You can make a contract or an agreement to where you and your ex partner have an understanding to if you sign away all rights to your child you do not have to pay any support. It all depends on what you two agree on and put on the paper. I suggest you find some lawyer to talk to and they can actually put this on the paper for you (it is not that expensive). Than you can take that if front of the judge and if your ex partner agrees and signs it, there you go.

I'm sorry you have found yourself in this troubling position. You can simply call a lawyer in your area. Just ask the receptionist for an available lawyer & if this is the case. You can also ask what the rates to be represented are at that time. DON"T do this without a lawyer. It may be cheaper but this is a life long commitment ( yours & your childs ) so go in with protection. Good luck to you.

I would think that if you signed over all rights then you were no longer responsible for that child. You may though be responsible for back pay if you recieve govt benifets or are beind in payments at the time of signing over your rights. In Ky, child supposrt stops the dy the papers are made legal and binding and you are only responsible for the back pay due if there is any due

Once you sign your rights away in any state...it's just that! You are giving up your rights as a parent to this child...it's saying you aren't the parent anymore, even though you provided life! You no longer have any say so in what happens to this child in his / her future...etc! You can no longer claim them as dependants, you no longer have to pay child support, but you also have no rights to see them / be a part of their lives etc!

if you sign away your rights you sign away that you acknowledge the child is yours so therefore no support, no visits, no child Your not considered a parent any more for any reason
