If he's into coffee get him some good quality beans and a coffee grinder. Chocolates should also be a hit. And, of course a big hug, kiss and whatever else you care to do.

Give his folks a call - they probably know his tastes better than you after 2 months of dating, and they'll also know what he already has (and what they're getting him). If not them, try a close friend or sibling.
If you can't do that, then think about his hobbies and go into a specialty story and ask for a recommendation. Have a list of what he has already - if he's into gaming, bring a list of a half-dozen titles sitting on his shelf, and the game store clerk will be able to tell you "Oh, he's into RPGs...Final Fantasy is really hot this season!" or "Sounds like he likes action games! Why don't you try this one?"
Finally, if you're lost for anything at all, buy him something that the two of you can do on a date - e.g. some movie coupons, so he doesn't have to pay to go out and have a good time with you.

I'm int the same situation, difference is that I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years (i will be getting him an Xbox 360). Get him a cologne, a gift card, cd's, you can't go wrong with that especially after 2 months.

Does he have an ambition or an untapped skill? Get him something that will help him achieve it...
That would normally be an instructional book of some sort - that's the most useful. Like don't get him a drum if he wants to be a drummer, it will be useless and annoying without knowing how to drum.

Is he a sports fan? find out his favorite team and get a hat, jersey something to that effect. A button up shirt is good because guys never want to buy that sort of thing but he will need one at some some point. Does he like music? buy him a guitar

I can sympathise with you. I've been married for 27 years and its no easier now than it was back then. I still struggle to buy for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmases. Sorry this answer is going to be of no use to you, but just to let you know that you're not on your own. Good Luck.

Yeah i know where you coming from. Ive known mine a little short of 2 weeks! I decided to get her gloves & scarf as suggested by these nice yahoo people so I will do my best for you...
Aftershave - if you dont know what he likes, get one you like.
Bottle fave drink - i usually get Glen Fiddick single malt....mmm!
Zippo lighter - if he smokes (could get his initials on it)
Adult game - something you can both enjoy
probably best to steer clear from clothes, bath stuff, jewelry etc incase you get the wrong thing.
anyway its the thought that counts!
