I would most of the time, if I had the money. But at 17, he might not. Bring some spare cash just in case. I think you should at least offer to split it. Good luck!

First, who asked who out? Normally, whoever asked the other out, by default usually pays.

How old is the couple? Let's say high school age, going dutch is not unreasonable. If the couple is in their twenties, or older, they guy normally pays.

You could also consider splitting the cost of the date. One pays for the dinner and the other the movie.

I married now, so all of my money is hers.

First couple of dates a guy should treat. After dating for awhile it should then become a 50/50 thing if the woman can afford it.

For a dirst date, I definitely would pay.
After that.......

If he asks you out, he should pay, period.

If you ask, you pay.

If either of you is a little short on cash, you should be honest enough to tell each other, so you have the opportunity to think about whether or not you want to go Dutch.

The rule is: If you ask her to go and you didn't say anything about cost at that time, then you will pay... If she asked you, same rule applies.
