last year I got a "stuffy" right ear for a little over a week with no pain. after sleeping on my side for the last two nights ( I thought that may help it drain out?) and taking some pills, it finally went away. Year later its back in the same ear, and I want to try some medicine right away since that seems to help a lot last time. I cant remember what I used before, does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a good medicine that will help clear the stuffy/fluid up?

Anything with a decongestant/antihystemine combination will work to clear the fluid retained in your ear. If you can manage sleeping with an extra pillow under you at a slight angle it will help to keep fluid from building up in your ears. Hope you feel better.

Sudafed works for me. Did you check out web md? If there is any pain make sure you call your dr. It's relatively easy to have a cold & have it travel to the ear. A lot of prescriptions are too strong for me. Warm liquids like hot tea help. Don't put your head under water but you knew that.

Try ear candling. You can buy them in the drugstore, but you'll probably need a friend to help you out. You insert a "candle" in your ear and the heat draws out all the yucky stuff. My brother has done this before and swears by it - his hearing is so much better now!

Do you use Q-tips for cleaning your ear? If so, you probably push the ear wax inside and it clogs your ear. There are drops you can put in your ear to help dissolve the wax. Ask your pharmacist, I know only German brands.
