God doesn't choose sides, per se, IMO.

I think God looks at intentions and actions. I seriously doubt God approves of declaring war on another country and killing innocent civilians. No God that I understand chooses one religion over another or "thinks" religion A should kill all those from religion B.

I don't think God believes in revenge either. An eye for an eye means don't overdo your response, but people take it to mean you should retaliate against everything.

No matter what major religion you are from, all the great men at the beginning of them beleived in peace IMO. A man could not be a prophet or a wise person if he didn't. Somehow, someway their messages got corrupted and f*cked up in translation I guess.

I'm pretty sure that Jesus Christ and Mohammed and the rest never wanted humanity to develop weapons to incinerate each other and drop cluster bombs on villages full of poor people in the name of a "cause".

So to answer you I don't think God takes sides, but I think it is against the true spiritual principles of any religion for us to have been meddling in middle east politics for decades and propping up dictators when it was convenient for us and doing whatever it took to protect our oil interests over there. If we weren't meddling in the middle east for all this time we would not have been attacked by terrorists in the first place (unless you are stupid enough to believe our governments lies that they attack us because they "hate our freedom") If we weren't attacked in the first place we wouldn't have had a arguable justification for going to Afghanistan and we wouldn't have been able to use 9/11 as the weakest excuse ever for attacking Iraq.

There is no God. The more intelligent question should be. Why are we there? And is it a good reason? The answer is no. The US is the bad guys. Thats why the civilized world. Canada, Europe, Japan and other wealthier democracies are upset. Its about Peak Oil, power and control of a valuable resource by the rich elites. Its at the expense of the general American taxpayer and consumer and the effected countries and citizens. Its shameful than most Americans don't research this issue more. Its intellectual laziness.

That is not the right question. The right question is, "Are we on God's side in the Middle East?" And according to the scriptures, as long as we support Israel, we are.

alive: God is on the side of the people, who promote freedom ... that is, those , who give others "the right to be wrong". Suppression is not of God nor are the religions of this world. God is a Deliverer from bondage and oppression on His terms and time table. Is God on our side ... in the Middle East ? - You tell me. Is our nation one of freedom ... or does it oppress and bind people up ? In addition. If you are looking for the "Intellectual" College knowledge answer, refer to "Free Spirit" above for the corner on how to be superior in such a mediocre world !!! He is in bondage to intellectualism !!!

Humans have free will, meaning God is not going to change the outcome of the war. Or we wouldnt even need training.

this just proves that there is no god. Everyone is worried about being true to their god, they are willing to kill for him/her or it. Pure lunacy if you ask me. Anyone who fights for a religious reason is by definition, crazy.

Maybe, but we're not allowed to verbally express that He is. That'd be too politically incorrect, making people hate our place in the war even MORESO.
