Intelligent people create intelligent societies, so if the religious majority in the USA were worth anything, we would have far fewer problems than the rest of the world, right?
Ponder this:
"Countries like Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark and the United Kingdom are among the least religious societies on Earth. According to the United Nations’ Human Development Report.
They are also the healthiest, as indicated by measures of life expectancy, adult literacy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, homicide rate and infant mortality. Conversely, the 50 nations now ranked lowest in terms of human development are unwaveringly religious. Other analyses paint the same picture: The United States is unique among wealthy democracies in its level of religious literalism and opposition to evolutionary theory; it is also uniquely beleaguered by high rates of homicide, abortion, teen pregnancy, STD infection and infant mortality."
Whoa! Seems that religion doesn't breed intelligence, and the more religion is pushed in the USA the worse our society will get.

I wouldn't necessarily say "less-educated", but vulnerable and impoverished. Most missionaries choose to go to 3rd world countries or areas of impoverishment where people will do anything to EAT. Sometimes the somach is a powerful tool. if you were on your last legs and it meant either life or death, what would you do? If you pay close attention you will see a good number of Islamic converts have a high level of education. that is because at THIS TIME, there are many of today's medical findings and scientific facts that are proven in the Qur'an. How the fetus is created, how the human brain works, the solar system, the oceans and geology. All this from a revelation that was revealed almost 1600 years ago to an illiterate man who was "less-educated."

Welcome 2 Islam. Allah said, obey your parents even if they are not muslims. But if they prevent u from worshipping Allah or make u worship any one other than Allah then u must not listen to them. I have read the description of hell in th Holy Qur'an and makes my hair stand. I would never want 2 go there nor would I want my loved ones 2 go there so I will always try my level best not 2 sin. Pornography is a big sin. Your eyes will testify against u on the day of judgement. Homosexuality is a very big sin. They will be condemned to the hell fire. Right now u have very little info. For more info and a guidance to the way of life and comparative study of Islam and christianity check ot this T.V. channel. PEACE T.V.

The only requirement is that, when you follow Christianity, you have to get yourself to accept a lot of seemingly-unbelievable things that don't have any hard physical evidence to support them -- like miracles, and supernatural feats, and things like Adam & Eve and Noah's Ark and other stories that seem to defy logic. The people who believe in all of that stuff aren't necessarily uneducated, they're just more comfortable with using "faith" to believe in things. Scientists on the other hand are trained to always ask questions and think logically; they're usually not religious, and it's not because they're smarter or dumber, it's because religion totally goes against science. In science you don't blindly accept anything -- you NEED evidence, and if there isn't any, it doesn't get accepted and doesn't qualify as science. It's just two different worlds.

The longer you spend in any educational system the more likely you are to want to know why things happen, and how? You learn that it is okay to question things, to seek answers and how to seek those answers. The Christian religion is largely based on the belief that you have faith without questioning "why", that you do not seek answers beyond the bible, and that you trust only what is in the bible. Those that continue their education because they want to learn are likely to want to learn in all areas of their lives including the Why's that religion tells you not to question.

I'm sure this will make me unpopular but oh well...Yes I do think less educated people flock to religion. More educated people are still often religious but it's not as likely to rule their life. They don't view the bible as a literal truth. Considering the bible was re-written (who knows how many times!) we have no way of knowing what is truth and what is complete rubbish.

Hmm, does that discredit my 2 degrees? I agree with the above - Prov. 9:10 - education isn't the factor, it's where you are in regards to pride.

yes, but uneducated people are easy to convert into any form of thought that society/large grous of people accept. They don't ask many questions, they noramlly feel smart after learning/memorizing what their group preaches, and they will follow blindly.

It is God who enables one to be a Christian by God's own will and for His own good pleasure and it has nothing to do with any ability or disability on the part of the recipient.
Psalm 3:8
Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people.
Romans 9:15
For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.
