Girl I met at uni and slept with a few times has told me she doesn't want a relationship but she really like me. She had just finished a 2 year relationship and met me a month later met me, things were going well but she kept mentioning her ex a lot which I just ignored. Now even tho we are "just friends" she invited me to see her in the hols and I met her family and stayed over. She made a move on me but I rejected her. I just want to know how I can find out what she really wants. Her ex lives near her and she sees him a lot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Obviously I don't know all the facts but from what you have said it sounds as if she is using you - sorry. If she mentions her ex a lot it means she is definitely not over him and that could be why she doesn't want a proper relationship with you and wants to be 'just friends'. I am afraid to say that she invited you over because her ex lives near and she wanted him to know she was with someone else just to make him jealous. If she still sees him a lot then I expect she is hoping to get back with him and, as I say, is just using you for that aim. The only way to find out is to ask her outright, but I wouldn't touch her with a barge pole because she is messing with your head. What was her reaction when you rejected her? If I were you I would move on and find someone who is willing to enter into a relationship with you for who you are. Hope it works out for you.

Maybe she is not over her ex, and instead of lying about it, she is being honest. She could like you but be shy about starting a new relationship that might crash and burn or she might get back with her ex, but she wants someone to talk to. She is probably not a good bet for you, if you want a relationship, or girlfriend ... maybe OK for just sleeping together. Friend is good, unless you think you want more in the future. I would personally keep her at a distance but a friendly distance and see how it goes.

I hate to say it but she's still getting over her ex. Which will take a good while. Leaving you as the rebound boyfriend. She was just trying to get her mind off of her ex but found that she couldnt so she doesnt want the relationship with you. Atleast right now.

Sounds like you are a support rock, by this I mean you are properbly a very nice person and the complete opposite of her X. She knows that she can talk to you and its obvious she still has some feeling for her x but doesnt want to get hurt again by him. The problem with this is that you can easily be used, you give her the shoulder to cry on and one thing can soon lead to another resulting in going to bed. You must make a decision, either you dont mind being used for the occassional romp, or you make it clear (and I mean stand by this) that your happy to be her friend but thats all.

ok ther are three options
1. the most harsh she is looking for a shagging partner
2. she's not over her ex and wants to make him jealous
oooooor....
3. the one i hope is true, she really likes you but is a clever girl and knows she could be on the rebound and wants to make sure she isn't before she starts a relationship with you. just give her time to get her head straight and have a chat with her. if you really like her then it will be worth the wait

She likes you, but she is hurting and still mourning the end of her last relationship. Give her time to get over it and be a good mate, and she will come round. be careful about being used as an ego boost though.

Sounds to me like she wants the ex back...I'd move on...anyone who would hop in the sac that quickly after a breakup is obviously not a stabil nor safe person to be intimately involved with.

This sounds kinda like "me" on her end of your situation. I just got out of a long relationship and am not over him yet. It sounds like she is trying to go on with her life. Be cautious. I know the guys I am going out with and talking to are just to occupy my mind and time trying to make it easier to get over the past relationship.

I think she still likes her ex and wants to make him jealous, or likes you and wants you to be jealous of him, maybe pay her more attention. Or perhaps she does just want you for sex. The question is, what do YOU want from her?
