I am an artist, in college and in need of some money. I have 25+ medium to large size paintings which I spent many hours on. Each year my porfolio gets bigger and better, yet my art work just sits at home with me. I have had one art exhibit and I know that my art work is phenomenal. I wanted to know how I could publish my art, so be used for greetings cards, calendars,or large poster size copies of my art....etc? I would like my art to be seen my people, get some money for all my hard work, instead of having my art stores awin a closet year after year. Thanks!!

I do not want to get rid of my original works. I would rather have them copied. Is that possible to still make money from copies of my art?

have you checked with your local coffee houses and sandwich shops?? alot of them around where i live have in house galleries. they will take a commission but shouldnt be too much. just make sure you have a written contract.
as for selling to magazines, book publishers, greeting card companies, etc. - there is a yearly publication you can get called the "children's writer's & illustrator's market" and "artist's & graphic designer's market" and i am sure you could find one for fine art as well. go to your local library and see if they have one or can they possibly get one from your area. do a search thru amazon for related articles. and research the web. lots of free info there....
good luck with your endeavors. i am an artist myself and am rooting for you.

Sell your soul to a patron of the arts. Once any established art patron buys something from you word gets out and you become "it". After you produce some good work of obvious talent your name will sell anything you produce no matter how little effort or talent you put into it. A good friend of mine went to art school and produced work of real talent. His teachers would sometimes try to give him mediocre grades. Some of the others in his classes would produce obvious junk at the last second because they hadn't done their assignments and the teach would bask in the glory of their light. They would make up some obsurd explaination for the peace that would defy reality. They knew they had scammed the teacher. My friend would have to appeal to the dean on many occassions. Art to sell can be so subjective. Unfortunately real artists that produce works that are realistic or just plain beautiful are often shunted aside for what looks like a giant splatter of paint that a cat urinated upon. I truly wish you well if you have real talent but it is a business of who you know that gets you going.

I know the feeling! I've tried Ebay, but my paintings consist of the usual oil portraits...so it's nothing unique and new. Depending on what you've got, it might work much better for you. I also think once or twice I have simply Googled something like "sell my art" and there are some sites that let you set up an online portfolio at no cost where people can purchase art. Other than the web, I am really not sure myself.

if your keeping the orginals then i wouldn't suggest getting a vendor spot at some local fair or what not!
I would however join some art clubs like deviantart.com there you have the option to put in your Scanned painting and you can then sell your prints!
there are other sites like Deviantart.com but i don't know those that well!
make a web site for yourself anyway and promot yourself buy adverstistments get prints made sadly it will cost you even more money and time just for promotion!
you can have the best painting in the world but how will people know about it if you don't tell them! so network and promote just like every company out there when you paint your a service of viewing!

If your work is truly 'phenomenal' and that's not simply your rather non-objective viewpoint, the best place to get your work seen and sold and to get a name for yourself is to exhibit your work in an established contemporary art gallery. Thats how contemporary artists become famous, sell their work receive critical acclaim. If that's really what you think you want, that would be the way to do it. You'll know fairly quickly whether you've got the goods or not.

I have been asking that same question for forty something years, and still haven't found the answer, however I've sold my art in other ways, such as sign painting, murals, logo designs, illustrations, tattoo designs, commisioned art etc. I think my advice to you is look at all your talents and options and don't just rely on one avenue or method to sell your work. Get out of the box and expand your horizons, or just get an agent.

from experience, you would make more money from original work.. from copys, you wont make as much, but its always good to keep copies (and many copies b/c people will want it) but if you want them on cards, calenders, posters, etc There is copy printing stores on original size papers or whatever size youd like.. just ask around.. maybe do another exhibit and have people place bids on your paintings, i know that will help..

My understanding is that you'll in effortless words get them from Redd contained in the start. nook does no longer carry artwork till you already bought them from Redd. upon getting bought them, nook can then promote that portray to you. i have not been waiting to discern out the thanks to inform in the adventure that they are authentic or pretend till after i purchase one. It sucks, yet merely keep paying for them till you get all the real ones. Oh, and in case you opt for to verify in the adventure that they are authentic earlier you flow to Blathers, flow to nook's and ask to ascertain your catalog. If the portray is listed in there, then you actually recognize that is authentic. which will in effortless words artwork on the first time of shopping for that different portray. desire that helps some!

Well, if you want it printed like you mentioned, then talk to a representative of a company that does that type of thing.
