I am about a week late on my period but i did have a very very light pink discharge for about half an hour on the day I was due on. i have been going dizzy and light headed and my boobs have been very sore (worse than usual) but i have not felt sick. I have been gettin period like pains but there is no sign of coming on. Im reluctant to do a test because ive done many in the past and I dont really want to see another negative. and ive not been feelin sick so im not sure. Help!!! We had a death in the family very recently so im concerned that the stress could have caused this.
Ive been in a relationship for 5yrs an Im engaged. so a pregnancy would be a happy thing certainly, what could the period like pains be? (as you can prob tell I havent been pregnant before)
Im not saying that Im not going to take a test. I just dont want to take one too early and then come on the next day.

thanx everyone you are all (almost all) being very helpful. I havent asked this question for people to say if I am definatly pregnant or not (i know thats not poss) Im just confused about whether my symptoms actually indicate pregnancy. as everyone I know has had morning sickness but I havent. I dont want to waste my time doing a test if im just being paranoid.

you have EXACTLY the same symptoms I had when I thought I was pregnant. Late period (my periods are NEVER late) , dizzy spells and sore boobs. And guess what, I WAS pregnant.
I dont want to raise your hopes. But I would say to you that if your periods are usually on time, coupled with the other symptoms you hae given, I would say there is a good chance you are pregnant.
Edit, to answer your question, NO i did not feel sick during the initial weeks of pregnancy, i think the nausea started about 6- 8 weeks into the pregnancy, maybe later. Like I said, my symptoms were EXACTLY the same as those you listed, nothing more, nothing less. And like I said, IF your periods are USUALLY like clockwork, i think you are more likely pregnant than not.
I really hope you are preggers my love, good luck. I know it will be disappointing if its negative but just get one last test done ok? the sooner you know, the sooner you can start taking your folic acid and getting ready for that gorgeous bubba!!

I understand what you mean about not wanting to see another negative pregnancy test. When I was pregnant with my sons I got cramps, which is what made me wait two weeks after my period was late to take a test. When the egg implants into the uterus, it can cause some cramping. Stress can cause you not to have your period. Try taking a multivitamin and see if that helps. I really hope that it turns out the way you want it too. But, if you aren't pregnant this month don't be discouraged. I tried for 4 years before I had my son. Part of me wished I'd tried longer. A child is a blessing, but I miss sleep and being able to eat when I want. I miss sitting down in one setting and being able to watch a movie. You couldn't ever possibly know how hard it is until you experience it for yourself. I hope that it does work out for you though. Please just be happy no matter what the results. Every month you're not pregnant is one extra month of sleep. Try and relax, wait as long as you need to take the test. Pregnancies seem to last forever as it is. I hope all your dreams come true.

Well, stress can cause your period to change sometimes, but you do need to take a pregnancy test, but this time take one at the doctors office. Sometimes when you take the home pregnancy test it will come out negative if your HPT is low. I forgot what the letters stand for but it is something in your urine that tells you if you are pregnant or not. But I wish you the best of luck and sorry about the death in your family.

Yes, you could be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. That said, you mentioned a death in the family. Stress can delay ovulation (which would also delay your period) so your period may be just a little late in arriving this month.
Good luck - hope you get the result you want!

Of course, the best way to know is to get tested, but these might be symptoms. However, I've never been pregnant and I have had pains with a sore chest just before my period. It really could be stress that is keeping your period from coming. The only sure way of knowing is to get tested, after all, the sooner you know, the sooner you can keep trying! Good Luck!

I hope that you are pregnant. However, no one on this site can tell you whether you are pregnant or not! You have the symptoms. I know another negative test would upset you, but that is the only way you are going to get a definite answer, no matter how many hundreds of people answer your question.
Good luck

You could definetly be pregnant. But stress could also cause a late or missed period. If you take a test and it comes out negative then at least you can have fun trying again!!

Take a home pregnancy test though I'd recommend just going and seeing your doctor and having a test done to be sure.

Seems like you are real stressed and when it gets like that it throws your body off cycle but if things get worse than what they are go to the doctor and get a full examination to be on the safe side before getting any baby clothes and all.
