I have to agree. I have become a little anti-christmas lately. It seems that all Christmas is about these days is presents. I mean honestly, this world is filled with horrible things and all we care about is one day to give someone a present. You should be giving present to the people you care about all year long, just out of the goodness of your heart and because you care about them.
Why is everything about religion? Why cant we just enjoy 2 days with our family, watching football, playing games, watching movies, and eatting ourselves to death? Isnt that whats important...life is short, who cares about material things?
By the way, I need a clothes hamper if anyone out there cares.

I'm sorry but this is one of the most idiotic questions I have ever seen on here and I had to comment. What is the deal with all the Christians thinking that somehow there is this giant movement against Christmas?
Repeat after me: I AM NOT PERSECUTED FOR BEING CHRISTIAN. I AM IN THE MAJORITY. I AM NOT PERSECUTED FOR BEING CHRISTIAN. I AM IN THE MAJORITY.
Seriously get a grip. And by the way since when does Christmas offend gay people????

Hanukah would give me a longer vacation. But, I think if it was main stream, that would raise the complaints. Nice try!

That's because stores don't play Hanukkah songs for four weeks straight, put up Hanukkah decorations, and people don't get pissed off if you don't say Happy Hanukkah.
You are missing the entire point. No one wants to get rid of Christmas. We'd just like it if you would acknowledge the other holidays that are going on around this time as well.

Tell me - just how would the USA go about "cancelling Christmas"? Send out cancellation notices? Drive down the street announcing it on bullhorns? Attaching a notice about it to our grocery receipts?

NO the last thing we want is for Hanukkah to suffer the fate of Christmas. It is a religious holiday and it should stay that way.

Christmas started through fact the Roman solstice social gathering. The church stole that date attempting to impose their own clarification for an already latest social gathering. do no longer take my word for it, examine it via your self in case you have doubt. Then come back and say sorry.

I think they should both be celebrated together. The menorah is a light of dedication that miraculously didn't go out. Jesus is the True Light that came into the world.
