I mean what do you do sit there and think "Hmmmmmmm what to believe a logical theory based entirely on mounds of scientifically analysed mutually supporting evidence that makes sound logical sense and has been repeatedly tested and seen to be true. Or a scientifically inaccurate contradictory bronze age work of fiction that has been edited many times though history? Hmmmm It's got to be the Bronze Age fiction." What can make you so stupid?

I wonder how anyone could believe the bible as opposed to Jack and the Beanstalk. Jack and the Beanstalk is better written and makes more sense.

Why have you made it your soul purpose on here to bash in Jesus and those who believe in him. If you do not believe, that's your choice...but get off your high horse. What is it with people like you who can't stand the fact the other people believe in something that you don't?!?! You think that we are fools? Well, I think that you are arrogant and so stuck on yourself that you can't acknowledge that there is a good change that you are wrong. If you look at the scientific facts without manipulating them to fit your agenda, it always coincides with what is written in the Bible.

**The Old Testament is broken up into three segments; Historical, Poetic and Prophetic. The historical portion of the Bible has been backed up by other writing of that time, artifacts that have been found/preserved and scientific findings. The Poetic portion is just that...Poetry. The Prophetic portion is filled with prophecies that for the most part have been fulfilled with the coming of Christ, though not all have...and those too can be backed up in the same way that the historical portion can.
I am still reading and studying the Old Testament, so I can't say much to the New Testament except that you can back up what is written there in the same way that you can the Old Testament. I don't know what exactly is dis-proven by Science unless you are speaking strictly of the origin of our existence and the length of time the Earth has been here.

Regarding the begging of creation, is it possible that God used the "Big Bang" to start the process of the Creation? All the Bible states is that in the begging, God created the Heavens and the Earth. It doesn't describe how he did it..he just did. Just a thought there. Also, the words used to describe the 7 days of creation can be translated as literal days or as periods of time. I'm not saying that God could not create everything in an instant, but it is quite possible that he chose not to.

So what does not coincide with what is written in the Bible? Everything taken into context is accurate.

First off...all I can say is WOW! The Bible is not fiction. It is no different from any other history book. 2000 years from now...I am sure the people will think that our history is fiction because it will seem so radically weird. The Bible in scientifically proven. Hello...they found the Ark! I think you need to do a little more research and quit being so Dogmatic. Also...Think about the Big Bang theory for just a second. I dare you to put your cell phone in a baggy and then smash it into a bunch of tiny pieces with a hammer. Then shake the bag until it all goes back together. That is esentially the big bang theory. No matter how many times you bang or shake that bag...it's contents will never become a cell phone again, yet we humans can be made from particles being thrown together? I do no think so. As far as Darwin is concerned...did you know that he did so much research on evolution that he said that the more he learned the more he realized he was actually proving himself wrong. Man...take the time to research both sides before you throw away your eternity!

Science proves SOME of the bible is not bronze age fiction, but it also proves that some of it is. I believe in the archaeological truth, not some fundaMENTAList's opinion on what the bible actually means. There is REAL history in the bible, but it is the SCIENTISTS that are separating the truth from fiction. As an amateur student of molecular biology, science makes a lot more sense to me overall, but it can never help me make tough moral choices. The bible was meant to ASSIST in making those kinds of choices - not the modern "distortion" of taking it literally, word for word.

And to "Nikki 13" above - sorry, but science is a double-edged sword when it comes to the bible - some of it confirms it, and some of it disproves it depending on what part of the bible you are referring to. The truth is the truth - not what you want to believe.

And to "Drea" below: you need to do a lot more research before you state your opinions as facts. You are wrong about several statements you made - I suggest you read a very, very big history book to learn the truth and not what you THINK is the truth.

This is the root problem in the world today. Being right doesn't have to be exclusive. I personally think that religion and science go hand-in-hand if looked upon properly. I see the universe as not something exclusive from God, but unfolding perfectly (not to be confused with fatefully) as a perfect creation. A perfect being could not make anything imperfect because that would preclude that being being perfect in the first place. So if God is perfect, he creates the universe, then it unfolds in a perfect way. He doesn't make the stars and drive the planets. But I consider that maybe God is the one who nudged the big bang and everything has unfolded naturally from there.

Christ said in Matthew 5:18
"Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

Every prophecy is coming true. Many have already came true.
Scientifically inaccurate - God has made a liar out of every man who ever thought this.

Bible said, Israel would fly back on wings of an eagle. Men knew this would never happen, but God let Orville and Wilbur Wright invent an airplane. When they saw the airplane they knew what the Bible meant.

Listen to God's words, not mine and yours:
Psalm 2
"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
the kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his Anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He (God) that sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall have them in derision." IT GOES ON "Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him."

I don't understand your thinking at all. We are mere humans, but God created something from nothing. "Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling."

I'm not religious at all, but science can't answer 100% of everything. Science is all theory as well (as you also stated), they just present more evidence than religion. If someone chooses to believe that we're made out of dirt, fine, but to say science has all of the answers is a false statement. Just remember nobody has all of the answers and anyone that claims to is bs'ing you. So how can someone believe in the bible as opposed to science? I have no clue, I heed science's observations more than any religious one, so I can't answer this question directly, but I think it takes a certain type of person to put their faith in something that sounds ridiculous to most. My theory is that religious people are afraid of what happens when we die, so they need something to hold on to to make them think dying is going to be funfilled with white clouds and puffy unicorns. Truth is, nobody knows what happens after death, but if they want to believe that they're going to be sitting there with Jesus or going to be sleeping with 40 virgins after they die, just to make their mundane lives better, let them (until they start intruding on your own beliefs anyway).

Your assertions are without merit.

I believe that what the Bible actually says, and what is truly scientific, are in perfect harmony.

Unproven "scientific" theories along with erroneous "biblical" teachings leads to many incompatabilities.

First of all "Get behind me Satan!"

Second of all, most modern day so-called science is no more scientific than the lunatic media claims it is.

Let's take a few examples as evidence and then we'll disect them briefly: ozone and green house gases, evolution, carbon dating, stem cell research and the cure for cancer.

1. Ozone. It's a highly reactive compound. This means that if it touches any other particle it will either attach itself to that particle or separate. So how do cars, which the scientists and Al Gore, tell us are causing the ozone hole in the upper atmosphere, create exhaust (ozone) that actually reaches many miles into the Earth's upper atmosphere without touching any other gases or say a speck of dust? They don't but cows, in fact all animals (including humans), fart. Farts are a greenhouse gas but the government can't tax your ***, or your oxen's ***, can they?

2. Evolution. Another fantastical farce perpetuated by morons. There is absolutely no physical evidence of one single living creature evolving from one species to another. Not in the plant kingdom nor the animal kingdom. This has failed to take place either historically and no scientist can show me even one living life form that is currently changing species. These evolutionists are insane in the membrane and Satanic!

3. Carbon dating. I love this one. "The Earth has been around for billions upon billions of years" Hogwash. Where's the physical evidence. All these nutbag scientists have is theory piled upon theory and circumstantial evidence. It failed to amount to even a small spoonful of beans. The process of carbon dating is accurate only (and this is stretching it) to about 800 years max.

4. Stem cell research. The latest hoax perpetuated by the Satanic liberals. There is absolutely no evidence that even suggests that embryonic stem cells have any proven effect towards doing the things that Michael J Fox is desperate to say they do. If Fox believes in stem cell research why has he failed to donate his own? And why is a Canadian allowed to involve himself in US policymaking anyway? You better run squirrel.

5. Here's a another good one. Since the 1970's the United States government has spent billions of dollars on the cure for cancer. This is based upon the false notion that science understands what causes cancer. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 27 years old. It was a bit of a shock as I sat there and heard the word 'cancer' as the Doctor began writing a prescription. Before I left the office I asked him one question.

What causes cancer? His reply, "we don't know." So how can you treat cancer when you fail to understand what causes it? It's akin to blindfolding somebody, getting in the passenger seat yourself and letting them drive while you give them directions. I wouldn't want to try it and, almost a decade ago, I passed on modern medicine's capabilities. I found out what causes most forms of cancer and I healed myself.

The fact that I'm here today to share this with you is all the proof I need that science is mostly baloney. I never did take the drugs that Doctor prescribed. In fact, I've spent the last nine years of my life without drugs, Doctors or health insurance and I'm better off as a result. It's all a trap and most people are suckers.

Doctors, drug companies and our nation's best so-called scientists (with all their combined education) and billions of dollars down the toilet have failed to understand - much less cure cancer. However, this is not entirely fair. There were a group of health care professionals who attempted to lobby the FDA to rearrange the RDA to reflect their findings. Their findings are similar to what I can share based on my experience.

But the ADA, drug companies, the fast food industry as well many various food industry groups all lobbied against those recommendations. I've been active in politics for over 16 years now and I have acquaintances in just about every corner of the room so to speak. A retired lobbyist I know made it crystal clear -money talks. Many of our public servants and elected officials are merely puppets who will dance with those that "brung 'em."

It's the way of the world. You can fight it. You can join it. Or you can become Amish. Where do you stand?

As for The Bible. There is scientific evidence, physical archeological evidence, that substantiates Biblical stories. But if you don't want to believe in the Bible that's okay. Satan's more than happy to keep the doormat out and the fire lit.

In the Book of Matthew Jesus says "you're either with me or you're against me." If you want to gamble everything on your ego roll the dice.

The Holy Scripture also says "the only way to the Father is through the Son."

It seems you're lost and Satan is reeling you in. Please copy this and pass it along.

science does not explain why something happens. science only tells you what happens to make this happen to make this happen. science never actually tells you the real reason why. the bible tells us why stuff it happening now. with so many prophecies, it is hard not to believe the bible. science will not protect you from hell. only Jesus can. Whether or not you believe that hell is a real place it doesnt matter because hell is a real place and you are still going and you will go if you do not give your life to Jesus Christ!
