hi there hun im a trained beauty therapist and hairdresser and have worked in salons which have charged up to $400 for haircut and wash and have worked in salons were a hair cut and wash were charged at $20. believe me hun theres no difference. they only charge $400 because thye know they will get braggers who like to come in and pay all that money because they want to brag to evryone how much there haircut cost. to tell you the truth when ive worked at a more expensive salon i hated it, the people were all snobs and talked to me like crap. and heres alittle secret both f the salons ive worked in both used the same shampoo and conditioner. now you would expect the expensive salon to have expensive shampoo ut no they both use the same.
just ignore people who like to throw there expensive haircut in your face , just say to them well ive just got the exact same cut for a quarter of the price and theres no differences between the 2. when you pay the more youre just paying for the expensive looking hair salon itsel and the high wages of the empolyees

Well, I am a hairdresser and I would rather make 20 than 10. But it depends on the stylist. Some stylist work in the chain haircutting stores because there is a quick turnover with customers and they only cut so therefore if there is lots of traffic in these places and the stylist is fast she/he can cut 4 or five an hour.. Plus it is a wash and cut only.... Extra for blowing and ironing... But, sometimes you get what you pay for...... I don't think more confidence really comes into play...If you like to pay more then go ahead and brag it up..... 20 is still pretty normal now a days. Go to Hollywood and get a 250.00 cut and then you may feel pretty confident... lol

Nothing in fact in some cases the person doing the 20.00 cut is better than the person doing the 80.00
Just gives someone something to brag about.
No different than paying 100.00 for a pair of jeans when you can shop around and find the same pair for 50.00 some where else.

i think it depends. i don't pay 80 bucks for a hair cut but i do when i get highlights and i think the highlights make a big difference. besides i also bet that the people with 80 dollar haircuts just like to brag, but if you like your 20 dollar cut then stick with it.

I had a woman that has always done my hair but the price got up to $58, plus a tip. I found a place closer to my home that is only $20.95 and they do an awesome job. It has more of a Salon/Spa setting than the expensive one. If they do a good job and it costs less that is a plus. It doesn't matter what it costs if they do a great job.

Geez, you've got a gem, if she does your hair exactly as you want it and only charges $20! Don't change! You're missing nothing except spending an additional $60 for attitude and bragging rights!

When you pay 80$ your buying a brand name. That is all also why people go places, now in allure or glamore magazine's january issue is a section on hair models. They cut there own hair.

Theres no diiference. They were just trick into paying 80 bucks for a hair cut. They probably feel better about themselves because it cost so much.

It depends on the hairdresser. Some are more talented than others, even thought they may not charge the same.
