rise above it.
some are just doing it to get a reaction.
and that they have nothing better to do,
if you can't say something nice about someone, then say nothing.

I agree. I get really angry when I see British people launching attack after attack on Muslims.
People seem to set a list of demands, like Muslims must say they're not terrorists, they put Britain first, they'll dress a certain way etc. Otherwise they're told to go home, which is stupid as a religion doesn't have a country.
The reason people do it is because they fear what they can't understand. The media has managed to scare the more gullible and they feel that prejudiced attacks aimed at other races or religions are a way to feel a sense of control and level ground.
I think it's a reaction from insecurity. By using silly names & attacks, they feel that they belittle others and can make themselves feel big & less insecure. It's what school bullies do if their Dad or bigger brother hits them. They find someone smaller to hit to restore some self worth.
These people need to stop being scared & realise their fear is superficial & that Muslims are nice people.

I think the anonymity on this site allows people to express more racist or bigoted views than they would in public, I dont let the ignorant jibes bother me, what does worry me is the fact that it's somewhat turning into an increasing trend, and is never backed up by actual facts. Most of the racist views out there stem from lack of knowledge. Judging by this site, it appears to me that more and more people nowadays are succumbing to here say with no real substance and show real contempt and hate for muslims, which I think has been caused by certain political leaders in order to justify war in the middle east. However, it always pleases me to know there are people like you around!

Hi may
Not really. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Some may be misinformed, others may speak from experience. Some may have relevant points to make but lack the verbal skills to express themselves properly. Some people just hate. There is an element of racism in all races, that's just human nature, but who am I to tell them what they can; or cannot believe. We are supposed to live in a democracy after all.

It is bad to be racist but every nationality has a racist trait, you can be patriotic and want peace and goodwill to all men but we are still supposed to have free speech and some of the comments that are classed as racist are really just people who are concerned about the future of our country.

Please understand that being critical of a race is very
often seen as racist ,which in most cases it is not the point that people are trying to get across to others .
Don't forget all faiths are criticised at one time or another.
Just look at the U.K. A lot of areas of the U.K. now do not wish happy Christmas to all ,they have ridiculous festivals ,such as winterval and happy December festivals
Just to name a couple. This is because the establishment
does not want to offend the Ethnic population
I personally consider this to be racist to the indigenous
population of the U.K.

Yeah, it's a shame.....I also find that many of the people who are racist are the first ones to complain about being discriminated against.

not everyone is.................nowadays you have to be careful what you say.
for years the British pulled each others legs i.e. there was an Englishman, Irishman, Welshman and a Scotsman, we are now being told that this is unacceptable and answers is a good forum to find out if this is true and why.
tongue in cheek, not taking things too seriously used to be the best part of being British

"Muslims" are followers of Islam, a religion. "Muslim" is not a race...neither is 'Jewish'. The term you are looking for is 'bigot', or 'bigoted'.
People are 'racist' when they have a problem with persons of a different color, regardless of their religion. People are 'homophobes' when they show discrimination towards gays and lesbians. Just thought I'd clear that up for you.

Are you saying that MUSLIM'S are 'just awful'?
I'm OK with your opinion, but the Muslim's won't be too happy! Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, racist, elitist or whatever!
So NO, your racism does not offend me.

That's what happens when YA give away 100 points for signing up. Those people are just trolls. If no-one rises to the bait they will have no entertainment, but sadly, people do and that just encourages them.
