I am 21 and extremely shy when guys ask me out. I get nervous when guys offer to buy me things and do things for me out of the clear blue. It is normal for them to do that? I have a a friend who is 39 that likes me, he is really sweet ( claims he wants to take care of me and all that even though he doesn't have a job yet) Should I be worried and cautious or just go with flow and stop suspecting every guy that approach as someone evil with intention to hurt me?

Answer: I would "stay away" from a guy with that much age
difference that doesn't even have a job. You don't need that.
Sure, he's nice; probably women his age won't have anything
to do with him. You should be glad you are young with your
whole life ahead of you--try and find someone with a good future!

Try to stick around people with a future, that's not gold digging, that's called common sense. You need to have a guy with a job, a steady job.
Now that that is out of the way, just be yourself and take it one step at a time. Not every guy is out to get you, but sometimes if you're hanging out with the wrong guy, it will seem that way, that's called your gut feeling, follow that and you'll do good.

the only comment i have is the guy is 39 and doesnt have a job, he will NEVER have a job and if he does get one it certainly will not be one he can "take care" of you with. u could take care of your self better than he will be able to at 40 with a job in the mall or something.

Just have fun...I wouldn't consider settling down with the 39 year old jobless guy though. He sounds like trouble.

So..
There are many books and resources about anxiety, social phobia, etc. (I think I bought all of them). A good resource you can try is this online program (audio files ebook). It's helping me a lot (I suffer from sever anxiety disorder myself). http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=296

He's 39 and doesn't have a job. Let's be realistic here... are you sure he wants to take care of you or wants you to take care of him?

“even though he doesn't have a job yet”
He doesn’t have a job, you aint really got to say much more then that. Loser
Practice makes prefect, date the scrubs just don’t find your self alone with one.
