I know the answer is nothing I just like asking this question. It shows how ignorant and up yourself you have to be to believe in god.

Dude, read Nietzsche. That's what he talks about in his philosophy. He says religious people claim moral superiority because they are so weak in every other way that this is the only way they can make themselves superior to other people.

Religion is for the weak of mind, weak of spirit, and weak of strength.

The term that I use is not theist, it is BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN. The only thing that would ever cause me to stop believing in Jehovah God is if you can prove that Israel, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Nazareth don't exist. Then if you can prove that the Jews don't exist or that they've been completely destroyed, and then prove to me that Christ's birth, existence, etc. isn't the pivotal point of human history, I might believe that God is not. But I must tell you, you need to know that there is evidence all around you of his presence, and so I should ask what would it take for you to begin believing in God?

It would take an act of divine intervention for me to not believe in god... ;D

Seriously, I have personally experienced god, so what more proof than that do I need that god exists? True, my perceptions and interpretation of my expereince could have been mistaken, but if so, I cannot know that, no matter how much you might insist to me that it might be so.

The problem with people who do not believe in god is that they think that because they cannot remember any experiences of god that no one else can have had experiences of god either.

That is so egocentric!

This whole debate thing between theists and atheists exists because of one issue, insecurity.

Theists fervently defend their beliefs in god because they are unsure of themselves and are taught to prosyletize to end run their doubts by convincing themselves through the trial of trying to convince others.

Atheists ferevently defend their beliefs for the same reason, they are unsure of themselves and one of the best remedies for uncertainty is to assume a definite opinion and then defend it.

And then of course, there is the more fundamental level of insecurity which is what atheists believe causes theists to choose to believe in god, which is that we don't really know a damn thing. There is not one thing that you can point to and say conclusively "this is real, I know it for a fact". It could all be illusion, as I believe it is. We are making it all up as we go...

Anyone secure in their beliefs need not involve themselves in the dialogue or debate regarding whether or not god exists.

Me, I just love a good mix-up and my own opinions are offensive to theists and atheists alike.

I would, of course, like to introduce my beliefs to as many people as possible because then maybe I will find some friends. I do not believe it is an option for me to give up my beliefs for the purpose of adopting camoflage beliefs so that people will like me. That would be pointless. I wouldnt like myself then, so I would find no comfort in anyone else liking me if I did.

So I will be true to myself and share what I know to be true for me. I believe that all truth is relative to the individual and that only math and science might be abe to define any demonstrable incortrovertible truths. And even there we are on shakey ground since the quantum state of things allows them to be anything at all until we decide what we want them to be.

Try watching "What the Bleep Do We Know: Down the Rabbit Hole" which is doing an admirable job of blurring the distinction between science and msyticism and may have taken a large step to erasing the line completely.

I've already stated by views here mutiple times. If anyone can DEFINATELY PROVE Jesus had sex with 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 year old girls or boys, I'd become an Atheist. But you have to DEFINATELY prove it.

If TWO different Alien space groups came here and travelled about the Cosmos and had compelling views on the creation of things, I would take it into consideration.

What will it take for you to realize that no evil or demonic thing you post will ever tear the Love of God from the hearts of those who believe in Him? Just as you seemingly will never accept God who created you, we will never accept your miserable concept of there being no god. Either way it goes, you'll find out soon enough about God the Father whom you've rejected. The question is what do you think will be His reaction to you?

When we all die, we will find out if we are ignorant or not. I believe in God and I hope to avoid going to hell. When I die, I believe that I will be going to Heaven. When you die, you believe that you will go no where. That is the end...but if you are wrong.....

One more thing. Why do you find it necessary to put down people who believe in God? I didn't call you a fool for your lack of faith, what makes you think that you can judge others in that way?

I'm not a christian or any denomination for that matter-but I do believe there is some higher force that we cannot comprehend (so we "The church" made up there own story from other pagan religions) As to the general question: I almost went completely atheist one time because I was gay and thought screw the church and all their holier than thou sh.it and you're going to hell B.S and so I though there is no God and if so why did he make me this way-but I have had things that have happened to me in my life that beg to differ. So I choose to live my life as best and peaceful as I can and believe in a higher power the way I choose -not in way that some tells me I should..PEACE

Faith is an interesting topic. Many, many, many books have been written on the topic so you won't be able to get a full answer here. I'm a very educated person and I believe in God. That's what faith is, believing in something, anything, without having definitive proof.

I believe that "God" is the natural universe and not a supernatural being. I will stop believing that when I die or when the universe ceases to exist, which ever comes first. Do not assume that all theists believe the same thing, as they do not.

Wow! Why would you want someone to stop believing in God?

Seriously, what then?

What would we do? I suppose I would be a nervous wreck if I ever lost my faith in God? That is, if I ever thought that after my stay here on Earth, I would not go to Heaven and have eternal life.

Do you want me to be a nervous wreck.?
