You could probably survive but it's not healthy. There is no nutritional benefit to either gum or tea, but the tea would help keep you hydrated enough to survive.

The key to losing weight is to reduce calories and to increase exercise - but to do either to the extreme can cause long-lasting harm to your body. The diet your describe could cause kidney problems, heart problems and any number of other issues caused by vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

Only one way to find out, try it. If she survives then you will know that she can do it. Everyone can handle a similar situation different so there would not be any standard answer. So let us know when she has either accomplished it or ended up in the hospital.

although it's probably not advisable, I reckon you'd be ok without food for 2 weeks and as long as you keep drinking water (or in this case tea!) you'd be alright. Tea hydrates you just as well as water. . .

Best see a doctor before you try this experiment!

Hell yes, alot of people survive a life time on coffee and cigarettes....so why not on tea and chewing gum....not a very healthy diet..

chewing gum is a bad idea, it'll just make you hungrier. But tell you friend to just eat less and not give up food altogether.
