Ive got a buddy at school who is 16, turning 17 in a couple weeks, says if your that age (16) and you have a learner permit you can drive. is that true?

I live in indiana and you can get your drivers permit when you are 15 as long as you are registered to take drivers ed. If you have a permit you cannot drive by yourself or with an an adult under the age of 21 besides your parental guardian. You can carry passengers as long as you have your parental gaurdian with you. It illegal for you to drive by yourself. You can get a license, but it is probationary until you are 18, which means you are under your parents insurance. You have to have held your permit 60 days before you can get a license. And if you are sixteen you have to wait a month and a day before getting your license if you took drivers ed. if you didnt take drivers ed you have to wait 6 months before you can get your license. And If you were bornin 1991 or later you can get your license on your birthday but cant take other people with you for 6 months. If you were born before 1991 then you have to wait 90 days before taking other people in the car. like stated above, you can drive with a permit if over 18... not so sure on that though, since i just got my drivers license.
