Oh, but they do still expect a savior to come.
The History channel pointed out that some of them (the Sanhedrans- I think) actually sponsored a savior about 30 years after Jesus was crucified. His name was Simon Bar..... (something).
But, he was killed and they all watched him rot, and then even the Jewish Leaders agreed that he (Simon Bar-- ) was not the saviour that they were waiting for.
PS; I am very unsure about Simon ----- s full name. But you can search the History Channel.com and get that exact name if you are interested.

As Christians, we believe that, in rejecting Jesus, most of the Jews rejected their own Messiah, as prophecy foretold (Isaiah 53:3-4, Hosea 11:4). As the apostle Paul points out in Romans 11, this is part of a mystery, wherein God used their lack of faith-response in order to bring the Gentiles (non-Jews) into His family. While there continue to be Jews who come to accept Jesus as the Jewish Messiah throughout history, we prayerfully hope for the day when the Jews will most fully come to accept Jesus and be "grafted back into the tree" (which St. Paul also writes about in Romans 11).

The Jewish leaders in Jesus time were hoping the messiah would lead a revolt against Roman domination.
Jesus taught peace and co-operation.
Rather disappointing.
So, they rejected the idea he could be the promised messiah.
That generation taught their children Jesus wasn't the promised one and the next generation taught the next.
Today, it is tradition that makes Jews reject Jesus.

The concept of man as G-d or G-d as man is ridiculous and against the grain of everything in Judaism and Torah. G-d makes this very clear to anyone who read his word.
The metamorphosis of Jesus into a god and even into G-d himself is a rather well documented theological phenomenon.
It is not Judaic and it is repulsive and blasphemous in terms of Judaic thought.

They only follow the Old Testament, which doesn't mention Jesus. Most view him as a prophet if anything.

In addition to what others said, the coming of the prophet Elijah must precede the Messiah.

1. Jesus is NOT God, and that is a false teaching of many Christian churches.
2. They don't believe in Chirst generally, simply because that's what their religion has taught them since the days of the scribes, and most of them remain believing it because there are so many people who call themselves Christians. but are such poor examples.
