im not sure how much five pounds is because i live in the U.S. but i think i would just try to get her something practical. if we were still friends maybe i would get something she liked, but going with something she could use would be good no matter what the situation is between you two. examples: gift card, females always like lotions and candles and such so you could do that also.

Depends how things ended with the ex, if you are on speaking terms just get her chocolates or something nice.
If things ended badly you could get her something cheap and tacky, something that you know she wouldn't like
