What would it cost to see a doctor at a walk-in clinic if you are paying out of your pocket? My roommate has been sick for a couple weeks and I think he really needs to see a doctor. He does not have health insurance. Roughly how much does a walk-in clinic visit cost? (We live in Arkansas)

That really depends on where he goes and what he needs. For a visit, it's about $45 on average, and anything else is gonna pump up the price quite a bit. Perhaps he should find a doctor who is willing to put him on a payment plan, where he can distribute payments over a period of months. Also, he should look into the state and federal government websites. There is a lot of money available for health care for those who cannot afford it. Good luck.

The reality is that no Emergency Room in America will reject anyone without Insurance. the approximately 260 Million other Americans will be footing the bill, you see if you go in and don't pay for services the rest of us pay. Currently in America 40million Americans choose to go without health insurance. Look into purchasing health insurance many plans start at 1.30 to 2.00 a day, the cost of a Starbucks Coffee or Less!

It can be anywhere rom $25 to $150, depending on where and the type of care he seeks.

My advice- don't delay getting medical care - it could get more expensive down the road. Make sure the clinic you go to knows your finanical situtation up front and offer to make payments. (If you can, ask if they'll reduce the fee if you can pay about half of it up front - more often than not, they will. It'll cost them less than having to bill you and chase you for the money.)

Good luck!!!

It varies from place to place. Alot of urgent care centers will give a discount if you pay with cash or credit card. If he is REALLY sick, you can go to the ER, they will bill him, and will usually allow you to make payment arrangements.

You will have to pay the full cost that the doctor charges, without insurance there is no exception to their rule.
