I am sure that everyone has that fear, but nowadays, the chance of that happening are rare. It was more of a problem back before the advent of modern medicine when doctors still believed in bleeding people and administering mercury as a youth serum.
Plus, the embalming methods used today REALLY prevent people from being alive while being buried.
I feel somewhat innappropriate answering this question if you're terminally ill, but just take care of yourself and put the buried alive fear behind you.

I'm sorry that you are terminally ill. To alleviate that fear, have a "wake" as part of your service. It is an old tradition that some religions still practice today where twenty-four hours before the funeral, you are laid in an open casket in the chapel and anyone who wants to can come pay their respects. This tradition used in the old days to make sure that people weren't buried alive. Hope that this alleviates some of your fear.

The embalming process should put to an end any fears you have of being buried alive

Sorry to hear about your illness.
I too am scared of being buried alive, so I will be cremated!
Its very unlikely that you will be buried alive, doctors do not make mistakes like that very often. Statistically you have one chance in several billion of that happening;

Nowadays the doctors may make mistakes but they generally know whether or not we’re dead. However, anything is possible -- EXCEPT SURVIVING THE EMBALMING PROCESS. There is no way that anyone is coming though that alive. I’ve thought about this too but this is one thing that we are safe from.
I'm sorry to hear about your illness. This is something I heard the other day that I’ve incorporated into my outlook: ‘Never say you lost something, only that you gave it back. For or even life itself is tenuous and always temporary.’ We need to value what we do have and what we were given.
Good luck.

hi i have this fear of being buried alive i asked my closest friend ll to somehow, make sure I'm dead. it sounds really gruesome but think off something that a friend could do that could only be done if you were dead this will alleviate your worries. i think that you must be a Muslim talk to your mosque leader or nurse who is caring for you please try to enjoy the time that you have,don't spend it worrying about what happens after you gone. it must be terrible cos i have always had these thoughts but have the option of cremation best wishes

Although it can't happen there must be quite a few people who are afraid of it. A recent report I read stated that many more people are requesting in their will to be buried with their mobile phones so they can ring someone in case they're not dead.

Just be assured that with the technology of today the doctors will know that you are dead before you get buried.
