We havet wo cats with ringworm which when spread to humans,is also known as Tinea. Quite contageous. Has been confirmed with Vet that this the problem; however, even with expensive treatments,we seem to be continuously reinfecting ! It's as if we can't get rid of it because our cats infect us, and we in turn reinfect them, a vicious circle. We know that the source was a kitten that we added to our family in September, and we have been battling this illness since then

I got ringworm about seven years ago from a cat at a shelter I was visiting. The majority of my clothes are either dark or colorfast, so I washed them in the hottest water possible without ruining them. I changed towels and sheets daily. I used bleach on anything white. I also kept the site of the ringworm covered with a bandage day and night so I wouldn't infect my cats and used an over-the-counter athlete's foot cream (per my doctor).

Good luck.
