God should do a better job of recuiting new believers. Why do we have to rely on the two thousand year old story of the so called "Son of God" to base our beliefs?

Who says we can't? If someone came around in this day and age preaching the way Jesus did, who would believe him (or her)? Look at what they did to him 2 thousand years ago!
I believe such people exist around us everday, but the world is so clouded that they can't realize or accept.
There's a great book called Joshua by a former reverend Joseph Girzone and talks about just such a happening.
