Islam allows the mixing of men and women, they do not have to be kept seperate. However there are laws governing these relationships.
A man (who is not a close relative) and a woman should not be alone together, e.g alone in a house together, without a third person present.
The Quran also instructs men and women to lower their gazes and not look (in a lustful way) at each other.
Islam also has rules of modest dress that cover both women and men.
Within these contexts, a woman may of course, talk and meet with men, go about normal business, work, etc, without restriction.

You miss the point totally. How many non Muslims have affairs with there husbands friends? Quiet a few, don't you agree. It's not got anything to do with thinking we are too desirable its a way of making sure marriage is kept sacred. I have male colleagues at work but that does not mean i invite them into my home. My husband would also never leave me alone at home to say open the door to work men. For my protection. Don't tell me things don't happen cause they do. Its about protecting your wife not distrusting her. Seems perfectly logical to me.

Yuckler....I'm a Muslim and i thought i made it clear it was true. I'm not denying anything it is part of the faith there is no shame in it. My husband would never beat me to a pulp, but he would beat any man who insulted me, touched me or disrespected me. Muslim women are prized in Islam not oppressed.
