Both are important, they need to be fed first, and then given some education. However think how many are out of work that are educated, from cut backs. There are no guarantees that education will assure one a permanent place at work . There is no one best answer for this delema

Anna great question!

I think it's important to educate people so they can feed themselves. Most people don't want something without working for it (I did say most, not all.) Most would rather work for what they have and not have it just given to them.

I'm not saying don't feed them, but education goes even further. So educated and feed them. Feed them food, and feed them knowledge. That way one day, they can feed themselves.

Merry Christmas!

Is it better to feed the person a fish or to teach the person how to catch fish?
Education is only accomplished on a full stomach.
Remember the answer to these kinds of question is never 'either/or' or ''neither/nor' but 'both/and' and sometimes something greater than which is called "GESTALT".

Someone cannot be effectively educated if they are starving. However, education allows a person to feed themselves.

Excellent points and you get an A+.. This is such a good question and a thought that has came to me , many times. In America we have thousands of poor people who need help in all ways. America needs to take care of their own citizens and Mexico needs to take care of theirs. When we spend on the illegal immagrants, that is taking away from our own. They need to go back to their country and get welfare from their own country. I The Mexican Government needs to set guidelines as to who can apply for residence in America. I firmly beleive that the only Mexican people who are coming to America Illegally are the very poor Mexicans. I think Mexico is pushing their poor people out. They do not want poor people in Mexico, and not only are the people poor, but they are very angry and agressive.

You can give a man a fish and he eats for a day. You can teach him how to fish, and he'll not go hungry the rest of his life.
