I think you have some things (people) mixed up (Noah was the Ark builder) I think you're refering to Moses and it would be considered a miracle thus God doing the "turning". If you believe that God can create all things from nothing and Adam from dust and Eve from Adam's rib; because He is all powerful, then it's not hard to believe that God can turn a stick that He created into a snake that He created too... The obvious source would be to read what actually happened in the Bible, but as your name suggests you seem too question whether it really happened or not. Well I suppose that it's a question of what most call faith. If you have it, you'd likely not ask, if you don't, that's up to you but I pray you find faith soon.

I read something about the snakes not going and multiplying and being fruitful, so Noah had his sons go and cut down some trees and make piles of sticks, apparently to get the snakes in the mood. But you might be thinking of Moses, he liked to turn his staff into a snake. I'm sure I'm going to hell for this answer...

I believe that was Moses and Aaron.

Exodus 7:10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

No that was Musa(PBUH*). Nuh(PBUH*) was the prophet who built the Ark, gathered 2 of every animal and his 5 sons and their families and sailed on the water for 40 days and 40 nights during the Great Flood.
