When you grow up you'll realise she hasn't!

You can't look at it that way. It is not so black and white like that. Parents often treat their children differently due to their personality traits but believe me, they love them both just the same.
I am sure, from your perspective, you may feel she is treating your sister/brother better then you, but trust me, it's not better...it's simply different. I understand how you feel though, because there are times when a weaker child tends to get all the attention and such, when the stronger child tends to get all the chores and such.
Just know that we are all different, even parents, and being different is what makes the world go-round.
Tonight, go to your mom and simply give her a hug, for no reason at all. Then feel her hug you back. I am sure, if she hugged each child separately, each and every one of you will feel as though it was special, or your hug was better then your sisters. There is nothing wrong in that either, you should feel special once in a while.....because you are!

When I was younger I was sure my mom treated my three younger sisters better than me, but come to find out my sisters all thought I was the favorite.

As a mom I know that I treat my two children different, because they have different temperament and personalty, but I love them both equally.

I'm sure that's what is happening with your mom.

When:

1. You are not getting any food or water and there is a lock on the fridge and you do not have a key
2. They all leave to live in a new home and do not tell YOU
3. You get a postcard from Florida from your family
4. When they all have diamond earrings and rings from 5th Avenue in Manhattan, New York and you get a £1 lucky bag from Woolworth's in Camden
5. When you are handed over to strangers and a brown envelope full of £20 notes is passed to your parents
6. When your siblings get to swim with dolphins and you get to swim with sharks with a steak tied round your neck

That is probably a matter of perspective though some families do enforce unfair gender rules like making the girls do more housework than the boys.

In general though, 'different' doesn't mean 'un-equal'. You and your siblings have different needs, talents and personalities. It makes sense that you don't get treated exactly the same way, that doesn't mean it isn't roughly equal in the bigger picture.

Sibling rivalry is universal.
The good news is that there are no limits to love and there is an abundance of our parents' love to go around.
That one sibling perceives that another gets more parental love is like saying that a millionaire is jealous of someone who has a million and one dollars.

Your parents should treat you and your siblings differently as you and your sibs are different people. You have different tendencies, temperments, constitutions, etc.

My grandmother said "I raised all 6 of my children the same: I raised them different.

When you have to do all the housework, your father is dead, you have tiny feet, and your stepmother and ugly sisters call you "Cinderella".

Never mind, your fairy godmother will sort you out, and prince is very cute.
