it would be the worst of war crimes to use them but you probably think torture is ok too.

Don't worry....unless I am horribly wrong.... you will see a mushroom cloud in your lifetime.

It will be carried into a city somewhere on the planet by a group of probably unknowing religious freaks. It will be detonated with the intent of sending a message but it will ignite something beyond anyone wildest dreams.

I honestly hope our security forces are up to the task.... North Korea is on the verge of economic collapse and now has 'Nukes' to sell..... high dollar items that any fanatic on the losing end of a conflict can afford dirt-cheap.

Using nuclear weapons is psychotic. Have you ever heard the term "nuclear fallout"? It's a reality, meaning that any allies we have next door to the people we nuke, are allies that will suffer radiation poisoning, still births, cancer...
The life of a nuclear bomb is 25,000 years. I think that if we don't use it for 25,000 years, and it goes null, I wouldn't mind a bit.

I think nuclear weapons are a violable weapons and should be used at war. Other countries are racing to get them to use it on us! Some suicidal Horne men would love to push the button so he can have a few virgins.... Think about it!

Don't YOU think it would be a waste of resources to USE them? Think of the cost just to clean up the mess...and the lost workforce...and the lost food...the burden of sicknesses...and you know the US would help if they set one off. The innocents involved would be massive. And don't think America wouldn't get bombed in return by someone else...once the atmosphere is messed up by a Nuke, the fear of using them will be gone.

just who did you have in mind for nuking? Iraq? what about our troops over there? Israel, in the fallout zone, would be none to happy, nor anyone else in the neighborhood. Iran? same. North Korea? South Korea, China, and Japan might "voice a few concerns".

We should leave any and all options on the table for defeating enemies of freedom, including the use of nukes. I wouldn't say that unused nukes are wasted. Their main value is that of deterrence - most would not dare attack America for fear of nuclear retaliation. In that sense the nukes are doing their job well.

Untrue. Having them sit there is the best use. On a smaller scale, you'll note that liberalized concealed-carry gun permits tend to be followed by a decrease in violent crime. Deterrence seems just fine to me.

I'd rather suck up the loss of money that's already been spent than have a glowing planet...

No, it's not a waste. What was a waste was pouring so much money into their development in the first place. Not using them is *smart.*

there are power threats to intimidate other countries why do you think some of them refuse to give up their materials? and are you aware of the damage that can be done if a nuclear weapon is released?

They are ueable for a long time.

And the REAL puropse is to keep people from attacking us.

In that sense, we use them 24/7/365.

Once they're fired off, they're gone. And so are we.
