Do WOMAN really like guys that are FUN to be with and are smart versus gorgeous guys that leave something to be desired personality wise? I'm not talking raging dork here, cause I'm not. But, wait, we're not talking about me. I just mean in general. Most woman SAY substance over style, but I SEE style over substance. What are your thoughts. And if your a raging dork with a hottie for a mate, guys, feel free to chime in.

well.....you are forgetting an important aspect. what about the LAY>? I mean come on, if he has a great personality but no pipe laying knowledge, what hte hell do i care if we can discuss quantum physics together?

To be honest, most women do like "the bad boy image". Not for life, just for fun. There is something about them that makes our parents cringe. As we get older, our maturity increases and we realize that looks fade so it is much more important to spend time with a partner that peaks our interests. Also, for most women, personality makes or breaks a man in the looks department. Contrary to what most men think, you can be a raging hottie, but open your mouth and are not able to string two coherent sentences together, you then become, let's just say, less then attractive. There is a flip side, you can be OK in the looks department, but when you speak, wisdom, class, compassion pours out of you. HOTTIE!!!!!!!! Be patient, if you consider yourself, oh wait sorry, your "friend" a raging dork, it is just a matter of time before women realize that substance over style win every time.

DEFINATELY substance over looks but I'm a little different when it comes to this subject because I actually really think raging dorks are very attractive. Once I like who a person is, then I find the physical things about him that I like. I'm always told by men and women alike that I am in no way normal in my tastes but for me, it's not the average good looking things that attract me. I can find a scar, a big nose, weird teeth, big bellies... all sorts of things attractive and it's never one thing. It's ALWAYS individual and unique to that person that gets me. To me, good looking blokes are a complete turn off and I just do not find them attractive. Same goes for broads.. cardboard cutouts, boring and no character. That's what I like.. character. In looks and in personality. I'm attracted to character.

I can only speak for myself and my gal pals, but I can say with absolute conviction that fun, funny, smart guys that are average-looking win out every time. Sure, we've all been with the gorgeous, dim-witted types and they're easy on the eyes... but when all is said & done, we mostly just need someone to talk to.

My boyfriend can be the dorkiest, nerdiest guy on the planet at times (and I'm sure he'd agree). But I wouldn't trade him for anything, because he's also funny, smart, a good listener, honest, and attentive. And that makes him the sexiest, most attractive man in the world to me!

haha.yeah guys who are smart and fun to be with are better than guys with style and little personality. It's a lot easier to change a person's style than it is to change their personality. Just watch all the makeover shows. I guess you have to learn this with experience because I know that in school it mostly is style over substance and you just have to learn what you really want as you get older.

It depends what type of relationship that woman is looking for. If she is looking for a deep and serious relationship than more than likely she will want to pick personality over looks. If she is just looking to be in a relationship than she more than likely will go for the look aspects of the guy. I mean who doesnt want to be with someone who looks good, but when you meet that person with the right personality it overshadow there looks. The person with the right personality will be able to get the right woman no matter how they look. The right personality will make people look really good, and even sexy, and vice versa.

Personally, I'd take intellect over looks. Fifty years from now, looks fade, guts come out, grey hair takes over. But your witt and conversation will last forever. Yes, you see girls take shallow loosers out, and turn down the interesting men, but that's just bnecause they're still having fun. Once they realize they want something serious, hopefully they will be smart enough to choose intellect over facial features. My husband gets asked all the time how he landed a girl like me (which I think it's funny, because 1. I'm not that good looking, and 2. He's not bad looking himself.) but the reason he got a girl like me is because he listens, we can talk, he makes me laugh, and we can have debates about books, movies and politics, and what serious woman would pick a good looking man over a smart one?

I want someone I can talk to and laugh with, and share my thoughts and dreams with... someone I can connect with emotionally and make love to. If he's a hottie, that's great, but if he's not, not a big deal.

I think older women go more for personality and younger gals go for looks, in general. Just my observations

Woman want a guy that is sweet,caring,and thoughtful.If they are hot then thats just a bonus.We usually dont care TOO much about the looks but sometimes we find one with ALL the requirements AND the looks!!!
