This seems to be a recurring theme in the untra-conservative ring. before it was the slaves, then it was women, and then black people (who were called "God ordained minorities" by Jerry Falwell). Now its the Muslims and the homosexuals. to me, these groups are just another target of the Christian right. it doesnt even matter if homosexuality is a sin...they still should be discriminated against. Christians are supposed to love the sinner, but hate the sin. but this obviously is not followed, at least in my area. Im from South Carolina where most everybody is Southern Baptist. how can they love the sinner when they do not allow them into the churches. how can they help them (if they indeed need help) if they are not welcome in the church. it makes no sense to me.

And the Muslims get a bad rap from the extremist, like those involved in 9-11. those are the same people as those who blow up abortion clinics...they dont represent the group as a whole. yet muslims are feared

I don't think it's Christianity that causes them to be hateful. These people are simply jerks and would be jerks no matter what religion they decided to cling to.

But they are able to use Christianity to defend their bigotry. When a bigot simply says, "I hate queers," then he is shunned by most of the community. When a bigot says, "God hates queers, so I must hate queers too," then he is accepted by the Christian community (well, those Christians who embrace that hatred; not the enlightened Christians who believe that's crap).

And this evil behavior is encouraged within those communities. Tolerance is even discouraged. When a fellow Christian speaks up and says, "I don't think God hates homosexuals. He loves us all as he made us," then the hateful Christian can say, "You're not a real Christian," and is supported by others of his ilk.

And that's why we have so many schisms.

I'd agree with you but I don't care for Muslims. I'd be murdered on the spot in a Muslim country if I dressed the way I dress here (fem).

I see Islam as similar to Christianity. 100% religious intolerant. The difference is that a Christian will berate me with insults, but a Muslim will torture me and cut my head off.

Please remember that "the Christian right" is not the Christian majority.
Just like the media can always find the toothless guy in the undershirt who sat next to Elvis on the UFO, they always know who to go to for a statement that makes Christians look like ignorant bigots.
The guys who get themselves on TV a lot, don't represent the rest of us, who are out here living peacefully, helping our neighbors, like Jesus taught.

Your take on Muslims also applies to the Christian, you seem to put the whole lot in with an assorted few who are bad apples.
Christians don't hate, but people who claim to be Christian do.

Why focus on them anyway? focus on Christ.

We don't teach hatred and discrimination, we teach the word of god as he wrote it in the bible. When god told us that homosexuals were evil and atheists were fools and not to associate with them, he left us with no choice but to hate them, if we are to follow his word. Jesus himself tells us to bring non-believers before him and slay them. That isn't hate that is the word of god. Those who would have us believe Jesus was a liberal sissy are not real Christians, because obviously they have never read their bible..

Christians think they doing good by slandering toher faiths and trying to convert.

I swear if i was king of the world, prosalatizeing would be illegal.

They think youre being nice to you when they spit on your faith and say your going to hell cause your diffrent and not one of them

Yet they dont see that thats just like saying "Your black, you need to be white, were the best you. Your going to hell for not being one of us"

Its very fascist yet in theyre eyes...it makes them holy.

This is so because they specialize in dichotomizing. Anything in the "not us" groups is not only wrong, but all sorts of other nasty names.

They are not really Christians they are people who hate and they wrap their bigotry and hatred in christianity to cover themselves.
