People do not get "ink poisoning" from tattoos.
People can sometimes have allergic reactions to materials in the ink, as they are made with many different kinds of metallics.
This is very rare, especially if you go to a good shop where they use quality inks. Cheap inks will be more likely to cause a reaction.
You will know if you are having an allergic reaction because it may 1) become infected 2) have trouble healing properly 3) itch long after it has healed and become bumpy/rashy.
Sometimes people have an allergic reaction to the ointment or lotion they put on the tattoo during the healing process and mistake it for an actual allergic reaction to the ink. As you already have a tattoo, I sincerely doubt that you are allergic to the ink, and if you have found a good shop and an artist that you like, stick with and you should have no troubles. Good luck on your next stab.

Not usually. the only way you can really get ink poisoning is if the tattooist uses crappy ink or he/she has the needles set too deep. You can also get ink poisoning from home made tattoos.
Hope this helps and good luck!

hi there i have 14 tatoos and know there no chance you will get ink poisioining. check the tatoo shop out, for eg is the place clean, are the needles clean that he is using. i go to the same tatooist as i trust him and know he is very clean and uses the best ink. the type of ink a tatooist uses will be non toxic and you will be at no risk. aslo the tattoo needle just punchs your dermis not deep enough to hit the veins, if it hit the vein you may be at risk but if the tatooist is well trained this will not happen

The ink used today should not cause a problem... The fact that you already have one, I assume that you had no problem with it, you probably willn't have a problem with another one.
Infection due to "unclean" environment is usually where problems come from. If your artist is a good one, He/She will be happy to walk you thru all of your questions regarding the inks, and the procedures they take to ensure a safe, clean shop and tools.

Ink poisoning? Dunno about that... you can get Hepatitis, HIV, and other infections if unsterilized equipment is used. My body rejected a type of dye used in one of my tattoos... I was allergic to one of the additives. Apparently this is VERY rare... my tattooist has been slinging ink for over 40 years, and he'd never seen it happen before. So be careful... develop a personal relationship with your tattooist, and make sure you are safe... and get inked the way you want!

Yes!
You could get ink poisoning if tattoo is done by someone who does not know what they are doing, or if you attempt to do it and you don't know what you are doing.
Professionals were trained, have experience and know what they are doing.

No, but sometimes I MEAN SOMETIMES your body rejects the ink and you get a nasty infection, check how your tattoo is evolving and if everything goes well go for the second one in the same parlor and please ask they use the same kind of ink to avoid that.
