every time i get out of the shower is the only time i get dry skin and it only on my neck and chest and sometimes theres even small red blotches but the dont swell,what can i do??? and my son gets little bumps on his arms from dry skin, i took him to a doc, but the bumps werent there when we went, what else can i do???

Use a dry brush before you take a shower. This will stimulate your skin.
Make sure you are not using a harsh soap, try one with moisturizers.

Try to cut the time you spend in the shower in half, or try to not have the water as hot. When the water is so hott it cause your skin to get irrated and then it becomes dry. And if you live in a cold area right now that also is why your skin is dryier cause its winter time. Olay daily moisterizer works great for me!

Use jergens to moisturize your body and your son's. Use a good face cream like Olay. It's fast absorbing.

You may have winter itch. I have found the best thing in the world is called Sarna lotion get it from the drug store. It's cool. But as with anything consult your doctor.

Maybe it's eczema? Mine vanishes pretty fast, they look like goosebumps but extremely itchy. I use Aveeno oatmeal lotion. I love it! It totally lessened my skin problem to 95%.

moisturise well after your shower with an unscented cream!!
I use vitamin E from the body shop, or vaseline intensive cream, or E45!
