As the origin of Santa Claus appears to have been Nicholas of Myra, who was a pious Christian leader who made a commitment of his life to God when he was a child, was recognized as a church leader by his late teens, and is still considered one of the most brilliant Christian theologians of all time. There are more churches named for "St Nicholas" then any other person. He i s the number one saint of the Orthodox churches. He is known to have secretly given his fortune to help young women in need of a dowry to be able to marry, keeping them from a life of prostitution. He also founded one of the first Christian orphanages and retirement home.

So, yes, Jesus gave his life so the "Santa Claus" could be saved.
