I've been up all night throwing up, I can't even keep down water. By now I'm empty so I'm just dry heaving, and I haven'y had any other of the usual flu symptoms... no fever or aching, and my stomach hurts REALLY bad from throwing up so much. what's wrong with me?

lol, I'm not pregnant I know that for sure. I'm feeling a little better now, I might be able to eat some noodles and I've been able to keep down a little bit of water.

More than likely it's not the flu. It could be an odd strain of the stomach flu but very doubtful. What have you eaten recently? It's possible that it is food poisoning, in which case you will be quite ill for 20-42 hours and then you'll feel fine. It could also be a strain of the Noro family of viruses which are currently spreading like wild fire...in which case it could be 3 days until you feel any better. The Dr. will tell you to try to drink water and rest. They can't do much until you've had it for more than 2 or 3 days, and then really they would just treat you with an IV for the dehydration.

Sounds like you don't have the flu but instead some type of stomach bug, perhaps a virus or a bacterial infection. A number of people are experiencing a severe stomach virus these days (see the stories about the 300+ people sick from eating at an Olive Garden), and there have been cases of E. coli poisoning lately. Of course, it's also the holidays, the time of homemade goodies and other foodstuffs being passed around. If people haven't cooked or stored things properly, washed their hands, etc., you could be experiencing food poisoning.
As always, it's best to discuss this with a qualified medical professional who can correctly diagnose you and provide you with whatever you need to get over it.
Hope you're feeling well enough soon to enjoy the holidays!

You probably just have a stomach virus. Don't drink water, just take small sips at a time. Also, try and sip on some ginger ale. If you want to try and eat something, make some toast, no butter and nibble on that. If your throwing up lasts longer than 24 hours you should see a doctor.

You have a stomach bug.

Saltines or crackers - start with one. Keep it down. Eat one more. Keep it down.

You need to keep down about 1 oz of water every 15 minutes to stay hydrated. Take your temp and anything over 102 get to the doctor.

PS - Could you be pregnant?

That's definitely not the flu. Check with your doctor ASAP! It must deal with your digestive system.
