Cold sores or fever blisters on the lip are Herpes Simplex Type I and no, you cannot catch it from a kiss on the neck.
You can catch it from drinking after someone who has it, sharing cosmetics or coming in contact (your lips) with anything someone who has it has gotten any of the shedded virus on.
Chicken Pox is a type of herpes and if you've had that you can develop shingles later in life.
The symptoms you were describing are from Herpes Simplex Type II. Highly uncommon and even unlikely that it would manifest itself in the form of a pimple on the lips.
In teenagers, pimples are quite common on the lips, especially right at the edge. Herpes looks different than "just a pimple" too.
Maybe your dad was just joking with you? If not then talk to your doctor about it with him there...he'll probably listen to your doctor. Or look up pictures on the internet of Type I and show them to him...guaranteed, once he sees what Herpes Simplex Type I looks like on someone's lip, he'll stop badgering you about a pimple.

First of all sweetie, you cannot get herpes from a kiss on the neck. Especially genital herpes. Herpes type 1 and type 2 are completely different viruses with completely different symptoms. If you have a pimple down south, that is completely normal. Also it could be a nick from shaving and what not. If your father is not going to be supportive or trustworthy in you, then don't tell him about your personal life, unless its a life and/or death situation...he's probably just worried about his little girl as well, sometimes fathers can't show their true fear. Hope this helps!

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 6 years back, when I was still in college and had a silly one-night stand. I know lots of young ladies will declare this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/4LTso everything improved.
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the World.

you cannot get herpes from a kiss on the neck, you might just be having some skin problems or getting what they call cold sores, that doesn't mean that you have did anything wrong, there are alot of people with this problem,i get them from time to time, it usually happens when the seasons change, usually around winter time, so dont stress. its nothing life threating, a little embarressing but you'll be fine, there are creams they have for just this sort of occassion, you can go to any drug store and get them without a prescription

There are different types of Herpes. (I do not know the exact labels). One is genital herpes, which you can get from having unprotected contact with the infected area of another person. Another type is more commonly referred to as a cold sore, which you don't necessarily have to get by contacting another person. This type of herpes, to my knowledge, won't spread to the genital area without you going down there and kissing it.
You can get cold sores without having to kiss someone with one. Most of the time you get them when you are sick. And yes, you can get pimples on your lips, they just don't appear that often.
