In reality masturbation is not even mentioned anywhere in the bible under that name or any of the other names we have for it. And if anyone who tells you it is, insist they show you the exact passage that says anything one way or the other about masturbation. and don;t let them get away with tryign to interpret other passages as condemning masturbation; insist on the seeing where it says masturbate. Lots of people will try to twist bible passages to have a meaning not intended by the passage. for example some people actually believe the bible advocates considering black people as being inferior. It doesn;t but they try to make it out as if some passages do...

Masturbation is not mentioned in the Bible.

However, in general, sex by a male without the intent of propagating the species is. It is not homosexuality that is a sin. Otherwise, in Levitican law where most conservatives will point that male homosexuality is a sin, female homosexuality would be equally outlined... which it is not. So God is against gays, but not against lesbians....

Well that is not the case either... It is the economy of male sperm. Sperm wasted without the opportunity of fertilization is condemned. Though not specifically masturbation.

Actually, I do not know of any place where it is.

Now, some claim that the story of Onan is a warning against masturbation. In fact, it is where we get the term,"onanism."

But examining the story of Onan shows that God struck him dead not simply for spilling seed on the ground. When Onan's brother was killed, he was tasked with keeping his family line going by impregnating his brother's widow. He pulled out at the last minute, failing his duty to God. This did spill seed, of course, but it wasn't simply for the spilt seed.

But some corrupt churches will try to keep a stranglehold on your personal life by claiming that masturbation is a sin. They'll use this story as proof, hoping you are gullible enough to listen blindly to them.

Not specifically. But the it does mention sexual purity, and that sex is for a husband & wife, only!

Also in Jesus' 'Surmon on the Mount' in Mathew, he says that even if you look at a women lustfully, you have comitted adultry with her.

This makes us responsible for our thoughts as well as our actions, and I bet that during masturbation you don't have many 'pure' thoughts.

I have yet to read "thou shalt not be jerkin the gherkin" So I doubt it's there. You might go and ask a Catholic priest. I hear they know all about sex and playing with one's self. Don't ask a nun though.
Those things are lethal!

It isnt. read it again.

Onan was not punished for it either. He abused (pun not intended) the law that enabled a widow to gain an heir via her brother in law.

No.

Masturbation is healthy, natural and enjoyable. 97% of the men admit doing it regularly. 3% lie about it

Just go ahead and enjoy.

If it is then everyone is in the same boat.
After all there are only two kinds of people;
Those that masturbate
And those that lie about not masturbating.
Period.

It is not addressed in the Bible directly. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent. :-)
