Yes! Make sure to buy a straightener with a 1-2 inch iron (you don't want anything bigger, and smaller will be better for you). Add anti-frizz serum (just a dab) such as Enjoy or CitreShine to protect your hair from the heat. Work in two-inch sections (dry hair of course, unless you get a straightener that can be used on damp hair). To prevent burning your scalp, put a comb at the base of the hair (at your scalp) as you straighten. This way, the flat-iron will rest against your comb and not your head! Also, the comb will help keep the hair straight in the iron. Keep the straightener moving - if you stop for too long in one spot you can get a "crinkle" mark. You may need to go over each section twice or three times before moving on to the next section. Also, getting a flat-iron with multiple heat settings (1-10, for example) will allow you to ocntraol the heat; start at low heat and work your way up to a higher heat setting that works for your hair type. You can flip the hair out or in, depending on the flick of your wrist, or if you want a straight edge with no curl, make sure to keep the iron straight when you get to the end of your hair. I hope this helps!

You're talking to a black girl, who knows how to work long, short, and inbetween. As for this texture of hair that is probably not as coarse as black hair (aka nappy), I would NOT put a relaxer in it. Don't even entertain the thought, because a relaxer is not made for frizz. But this is what to do. Buy a hair dryer with a comb and brush attachement. After washing and conditioning, put a leave-in conditioner like paul-mitchell. If you have dry hair, use a little oil, if it tends to be oily, the paul mitchell leave in is fine. Pull the hair as it dries through this blow dryer. It will straighten out as it dries. You will probably have to use a flat iron or a curling iron to put the style into your hair. This is how I blow dry my hair straight. Another option--not sure of your sex---you can go to a hair stylsit and ask for a roller set, which is when the hair is given a setting lotion and parted into rollers. You will sit under a dryer until the hair dries. The stylist will remove the rollers and style the hair. This will also straigthen frizzy hair. As for choosing a stylist, I prefer Latino stylists. They are used to doing hair of any texture, due to Latin countries' cultural diversity of African and European ancestry. They will know what to do with your hair.

Hey, why don't you go to a salon and have a relaxer/straightner put in your hair. It last until your hair grows out. Use a ceramic comb/brush when you brush your hair to eliminate frizz/static since your hair is so short. Also, Frederic Fekkai has a great Olive Shine Cream that would help with the frizz. Just put it on after your done styling your hair and throughout the day. Also, don't wash your hair everyday!

Yes, you just have to be careful. Straightening irons usually get too hot and it's easy to burn your scalp so try a curling iron. A small barrel curling iron, start at the scalp, don't wrap hair around it, instead pull strand of hair from scalp to the end. Do this slowly, but not so much that you burn yourself. It takes a while but it is possible.

yeah i canr see why not, if i was you id wash and dry it , and then comb it straight. after that apply some hair serum to get rid of frizz and make it sleek and shiny. if you have a hairdryer, pull the comb along your hair and dry it straight. this should get rid of most of the frizz, then just straighten away. and dont worry even if you have a couple of inchs of hair it dosent matter just be extra careful to not burn your neck . and once its straightened it will look great. my brother has his hair styled and lets me straighten his and he hardly has any hair but starightening your hair gives you a sleek new look

If your hair is frizzy already I would chemically straighten it and then use lots of anti-frizz and moisturizing products.

yes, you should be able to. i chopped most of my hair off so that it was about one or two inches long, and i still straightened it. the issue with that is that it's easy to burn your scalp. ouch!

yes. just when you get out of the shower, blow dry it and then you can straighten it. But i would put half of it up and do the bottom half 1st, then do the top half. it will work out better if you do it like that

You should let a hairdresser straighten it for you. or to save the money, just leave it how it is.
