You should go and see your doctor. Different medications work for different people and your doctor will be able to tell you what you need to do,or alternatively refer you to someone that can help. I have been on various medication for insomnia but you need to find one that is right for you, and nobody other than a medical professional can do that for you.

If you're having these problems, then your body is obviously out of whack. Taking medication will make it worse.
For physical health I see a kinesiologist - the only person who's been able to improve my health, ever.
For my mental health, my kinesiologist referred me to an excellent psychologist, who is the only person who has been able to help me deal with my acute anxiety disorder, severe post-natal depression, insomnia, and a bunch of other things.

Medication does not cure anything. It masks the symptoms, and trust me when I say your body will just find other ways to manifest your problems.
Find the cause, and treat that. If the cause is gone, you can't have any symptoms.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

For insomnia I can at least say this; try to go to bed the same time every night without fail. Do not go on the web to kill time! It's tempting I know, but don't.

I can only agree with the earlier reply. Please keep away from the pills and drugs. They won't provide any lasting solution. Do you get enough exercise? Maybe a good work-out at the gym, or something similar, after work will make you good and tired at bed time. Hope this helps. Good luck.

i would take drugs... one way to help insomnia is sleeping pills such as lunesta, ambien, restoril, prosom, ect. they help relieve symptoms but dont cure insomnia..the doctor may have you do relaxation therapy instead of the drugs or have you control stimulation such as caffeine and late night exercise things like that. hope this helps and good luck with your dicision..

I HAVE THE PERFECT SOLUTION. get a book or puzzle. not a video game. Play/read at night and RESIST going to sleep. when you do sleep (it will be soon) you will sleep like a baby and if you keep doing it you insonia will go away.

See a doctor too. you may have a disorder.

NO PILLS! therepy....BUT NO PILLS!
