My cats recently enjoy kicking the litter out of the tray and making a big mess. I have been looking at litter boxes, with lids and also self cleaning ones. So if anyone knows of a good cat litter box your help would be very grateful!

Hi there...cats who enjoy to play within their sand boxes would benefit from litter boxes with lids. Self-cleaning litter boxes can be a benefit to us human pets, however some cats may fear them because of the noise they make shortly after they exit the box and decide to avoid them altogether and inappropriately soil the home instead. However, it depends solely on the cats personality.

I have always used litter boxes with lids ... it gives the cat more privacy as well as containing the litter to a large degree. Also, put a mat on the floor just outside the door of the litter box, makes the area easier to clean.
