In 1978, Sagan gained a Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction for The Dragons of Eden. In 1985, he penned the speculative, sci-fi novel Contact and within the mid '90s co-produced the enormous-funds movie version that starred Jody Foster. I think he died on December 20th. Anyway, a great man, he was. Even with all we've learned since it was first made, _Cosmos_ is still relevant. A classic.

We miss you, Carl.

Yes, the world lost a great mind and a great atheist when he passed away.
Thankfully his teachings, books and more importantly, the gold record on Voyager still exists. Imagine, the message being carried from earth to the stars was written and recorded by an Atheist.
Makes me proud to be a human being!

And let's all thank Gary for showing us a fine example of christian love and tolerance. If you don't follow their childish cult, you end up in an imaginary hot place called hell.
Keep up the good work Gary, the more people like you post, the more people turn away from your childish cult.
