I was recently invited to my fathers for xmas (I have not seen him or his side of my family in approx. 8years) I am very nervous as I know some of them do not like me. My fiance is coming with me for support and because I would like him to meet them all. Anyone have any advice so it will go smoothly. I would like to bring something but I"m not sure... maybe a bottle of wine...Help. I have not hard feelings against any of them we are all just stubborn and they like to hold grudges.

If people are holding grudges for 8 years then they have a serious problem.
You can't change peoples ideas, emotions or ways of living their lives.
I would show grace and confidence when I arrived. I would be kind and courteous to everyone, and hug them and acknowledge them.
Alot can happen to a person over 8 years and who knows some of them might have relaxed a little. I would not get my self worked up for nothing.. think positive and go with that energy.. Do not let anyone ruin your holiday.. they will treat you how you allow them to treat you... Show them how mature and kind and gentle you are and love them anyway even with their faults. You just have to let some things in life go, so they will not become an emotional burden in your life.
You make the choice and have a great time.
You need to learn to love them and accept them for all their inadequacies and inability to move on. Not everyone has this ability, but you can show them you do.
Give them so much kindness they won't know what to do,.
Merry Christmas

You're on the right track to meeting them. Taking your fiance and a gift. If they start in about anything, leave. That'll let them know you have better things to do with your time than stick around and play Family Feud.

Life is short so treasure that But dont expect too much
