It's time for the Iraqis to stand on their own two feet. It's time for the Americans to leave Iraq. If we stay, the Iraqi government will never learn to stand on its own, and we'll be propping them up forever.

The period after the fall of the Ba'thist regime could certainly have been handled better, but leaving would be a disaster, not only for Iraq, but for the entire mid-east, and for us at home. I can tell you, being in the post-Vietnam military was not a bed of roses.
The vision of a unified and stable Iraq as a stabilizing force in the region is a great strategic vision. Gripe if you want about the administration's operational abilities, but the strategic vision is magnificent, and that is beyond argument. And it looks like there's a real possibility that both the US and Iraqi administrations may get their acts together, so I'm willing to see if they can, rather than withdraw into a 1937 isolationism.

We all should care about the war, we cant change the fact that we are at war, so I think we should send a massive amount of soldiers and show our enemy (Iraq and insurgents) that we are still a SUPER power. We should make Baghdad a Crater, some innocent people will die, but war is war! We need to be brutal, and not try to always be politically correct! We should deal with Iraq like we dealt with WW II. then, bring our troops home and give them a hero's welcome.

Nobody meaning....you? I still care, and anyone who isn't so wrapped up in themselves to the point of absurdity better care.
I don't give a damn if we should have gone or not at this point. We are there NOW. Bring them home when the job is done, not one day before. And while many may wish to be short-sighted, Iran is around the corner ready to pounce on any sign of weakness we show. Mark these words.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda...all BS. WE must learn from errors, but it doesn't mean we give up and slink away like a cowardly yellow egg sucking dog. We finish what we started.

No, no no!! That would definitely be the wrong thing to do. The majority of the Iraqi people want us there to help them put their lives back together. I believe that it is our place to put together what we destroyed, i.e their government, and help rebuild it according to the wants of the majority of the population in Iraq. Not only that but if we were to cut and run we would let those that are out there plotting to attack us again that we are cowards and run away when the crap gets thick.
Also I believe that we can not have a date set aside for a pull out. If we were to give that then those terrorists there would just wait and bide time till the pull out and then take over the country which we left vulnerable. We have a moral obligation to these people to make sure that they are going to be safe and secure in their own country.

No, we should not leave, regardless of the administration that is in power. If it took Germany and Japan 10 years to stablize after being at war for 5 or six years, then I have no reason to believe that this will be any different. We need to see it through.

i agree with what was mentioned above, they NEVER ever shouldve been sent to begin with.
however, whatever needs to be done to get them sent home, needs to be done soon so they can come home and before anybody else gets killed. i heard the other night via the news something like 3,000 troops have been killed
i DONT support the war and am not pro war by any means. however, i respect the troops, support them for doing things to keep us and our loved ones safe and they need to be thanked even if you are not for the war(like me)
war never is the answer... but im thankful for the women and men keeping US safe

Now we have started it, we need to make sure the Iraqis can take care of themselves. When that is done, then we get the hell out. This war was a mistake but now we cannot leave this country more dangerous than it was before we invaded. And if we leave now, it will be a festering petri dish for every Islamic terrorist to grow and multiply. The least we can do is provide the Iraqi government, such as it is, with some type of self protection.
It's really a terrible mess. Thanks, George, you fool.

If we bring our Troops home the Iraqis will have to fend for themselves and either get their act together or go down the cesspool that Bush & Company has created for them with their "Global Domination" thingy!

In the stream.-- Mighty waters draw much stone and rubble along with them; mighty spirits many stupid and bewildered heads.
