We would have peace? The Shiites are begging clerics to stop the war. Why do people believe that some people are from God and he talks only to them and not the rest of us?
Why can't people say why you and not someone else?

You have hit the nail on the head there, in fact very soon something surprising will happen. Bible prophecy shows that the governments of the world will soon take action to remove religion on a worldwide scale, they will see religion as a disturbing element that is a threat to world peace and security - which it is in fact becoming. I would encourage everybody to read the following link which is a message that has just been distributed worldwide by Jehovah's witnesses.

God does not get involved or take sides in war, because he tells his true followers to learn war no more.

Yes, I do believe that religion is the cause of many wars through out history. However, getting rid of religion will not bring about peace. The only way the world will ever have true peace and security is when God steps in as he has promised.

The true difference betwen the Shiites and the Sunnis is more cultural than religious, so no-I don't think it would help.

Like 100% world peace? - Probably not, there are many wars and conflicts that are just over power, and money, and land...look at the slaughters in Africa now - many of those are over nothing more than diamonds.

That's an accurate description of all religion. They're right, and everyone else is wrong. My instinct tells me they're all wrong.

No, there would still be real estate to fight over. But it would probably help a lot.
