then says to me when he was going away for the weekend-i'll be thinking of you-does that mean he still has feelings?

Most likely not; more than likely he is just keeping you on the string as a back-up to run to when he is feeling bummed because a new relationship is not working out or he gets dumped.

Nothing to panic about. Guys often withdraw into their "cave", when they are working something out. While this instance seems to be a rather extreme withdrawal, it does happen from time to time.

If he is emailing daily, he clearly still has feelings, but its a concern that he's pulling back emotionally. Its usually an indicator of something, or someone else receiving his emotional energy.

We all have a finite amount of emotional energy and as you've clearly noticed, the level of energy he once spent on you is no longer in its previous supply. My advice is to let him go for the weekend and when he returns, ask if you can offer any help for what he's going through. If he says yes, GREAT! If he seems secretive, or defensive, its time to get concerned.

Just that guilt. Don't fall for it. He probably is a sensitive guy and does not want to hurt your feelings too much. So he is padding it with all these niceties. Deep down he really wants to pull away from you. Just let him.

You do not have to answer his email - you will see- it will stop in time.

He is looking for confirmation from you that it is acceptable for you that he is pulling away.

personally I would guess that "I'll be thinking of you" does mean he still has feelings for you - unless he's going to be planning some kind of elaborate mafia hit on you, in which case I'd say no.
