4 That is why, since we have this ministry according to the mercy that was shown us, we do not give up; 2 but we have renounced the underhanded things of which to be ashamed, not walking with cunning, neither adulterating the word of God, but by making the truth manifest recommending ourselves to every human conscience in the sight of God. 3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. 5 For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God is he who said: “Let the light shine out of darkness,” and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate [them] with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ.

The scripture I quoted came from a Translation of the Holy Bible.
Admittedly yours was taken from a "Version" of the Bible.
I dare say mine words are accurate and in fact inspired of God himself.

The time has come to not only talk the talk but walk the walk. Its a matter of not only believing, but professing and behaving in our faith.

Some minds are blinded to the truth which is Christ crucified the Hope of Glory.
They cannot beleive in the tTrue GOD because of unblief which is of satan.
Christ who is the image of the father, the Unseen Living GOD is whom we preach, the Light of the World.
Those who are perishing beleieve this truth to be a lie the Good News or Gospel of Jesus the Christ mans only hope.
And we have the Knowledge of Christ.

It means that through the Holy Spirit, we are all equipped as believers to ground us in the faith which is a gift itself. Actually its quite a package deal. And it is the one thing that non believers don't understand. People say how can you believe in God? The Spirit also gives us the gift of knowing Him in our heart. Its what grounds us in the faith. Non believers ask how can you believe. Believers now grounded ask how could you not believe. Belief is a gift in itself. We can now understand the word of God when we read it. Things that were mysteries are now reveled. We are now children of God. Our part is now to live Holy lives. Which can only be done with the grace of the Holy Spirit. Power is at work in our lives with faith that we all must keep. We have the opportunity to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height. We can now know the love of Christ which the rest of the world doesn't understand. There is a fullness of God that I honestly still need to achieve fully. I know that I need more. And that is all up to me.

Live the life of Christ and all will see the light in you.
Become a witness to the world. A world that is indeed in darkness.

To me, it means that while we who believe in God (especially Jesus) are called forth to tell the rest of the world, there are many (most on this page) who will refuse to believe and therefore not be saved. A Blessed Christmas to you.

your translation is a little incorrect not sure what Bible you read that from but mine reads as follows:
"Therefore seeing we have recieved this ministry,as we have recieved mercy we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending our-selves to every man's conscience in the sight of God
But if our gospel is hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
And it pretty much means the gospel is only revealed to those who repent and obey Christ. it is foolishness to unbelievers and saving they should repent and forsake their ways God will not open to them. The mysterious of God are only for those who love him.and he says that satan the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not lest they should understand but us who love and follow God have renounced our old ways when we repented the hidden things of dishonesty etc..

Maybe that you follow God, but there are those who have been blinded to the truth by others, but Jesus was reaching out to those who were blind to the truth.

"For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus’ sake."
I have a problem with slavery in general let alone being a slave to a perceived divine power. This negates the divine within you (your inherent power to create) whether that ability is a result of a higher power or an accident of birth. Being enslaved stops growth cold. It also begs for the desire for freedom from being enslaved. Is this spirituality? I think not.

It's a rant.; basically. By some dude called Saul, who later became Paul, (without which christianity would be non existent) who lived in , or around 50, 60 AD. It's just a rant, a dogma that says, any1 who rejects this is gonna go to hell.
I just never bought it, sorry.
