They will numb you and even stubborn teeth will come out. I had to have three baby teeth pulled out because two of my teeth had become embedded before I got braces
I was scared too, but they'll probably use a shot to numb you and it'll feel very weird. I had to go to school and my entire lips felt weird and I couldn't move them. Sometimes they'll bleed afterwards so keep cotton swabs handy and a tissue (numb lips=drool ><) You always might want to take the day off too and only eat soft foods if you're too worried about.
Don't worry though, it'll be fine!

Well, I'm a dentist and I worked in paediatric clinics. A good dentist would:
1- apply topical anaesthetic gel
2- numb your tooth and soft tissue around it using an injection. With the topical gel and some manoeuvres, there should be really little or no pain at all.
3- after the dentist makes sure everything is 100% numbed, tooth is pulled out. There should be no pain at all. All what you're gonna feel is the pressure.
Don't worry, baby teeth are usually easy to pull out coz they have straight short roots.

I would suggest to you to get all 4 teeth pulled at the same time, it will be a quicker recovery. I had 6 teeth pulled and braces a week after and talking from experience, it is much better to get them all done at once. The pain is not to bad depending on how you teeth are position and the procedure that needs to be done. For me i had 4 cut out of the gums and 2 pulled so healing time was about one week and after 4 days of having them pulled i had braces put on. If you seperate the procedure, eg. pull 2 now 2 later it will take you a bit longer to heal and may scare you so that you do not want to return for the other 2 to be pulled. I was put to sleep for this so i did not feel a thing but if you are having it pulled i hear it is a differant story. Good luck!

I had 3 teeth pulled before I got braces. My dentist used Novacaine on me, so the only part that really hurt was the initial shot.
Be sure to discuss your anxieties with your dentist so he can plan the procedure accordingly. My dentist was aware of my fears to the point that every time I squirmed or twitched in the chair he would stop and give me another shot. It worked out great except for the fact that I couldn't feel my face for several hours which wasn't really a bad thing. :)

I had 4 teeth removed for braces under general anaesthetic....it was actually no problem at all and hardly any pain after! I woke up feeling wonderful - as if I had slept for a 100 years and very well rested! I also had a wisdom tooth out under just local anaesthetic and that was also fine, so please don't worry too much....different people have different experiences but chances are you'll be just fine :-)

Well duh they numb it! lol Or if they really need to they could "put you under". (to sleep basicaly - it's really weird! lol)
I had 2 baby teeth pulled for braces aswell. And even more recently, 6 teeth (4 purmanent and 2 wisdom). I was "laughing gassed" for that one. lol
It's not fun, but when they numb you, I remember it hurting a lot. (this for like 4 years ago... .so... lol) And then he was like "OK! It's out! see?" I didn't even feel the tooth being pulled out. o_O lol All I felt was what ever he did to numb my mouth around it.
I wish you luck! And remember, it really isn't that bad. Just picture how gorgeous your teeth and smile will be after all your braces stuff is all done! (I do this basicaly ever day! lol) =)

I had 2 teeth removed for braces. I was knocked out and didn't feel a thing. There was no pain after. It just felt weird to have teeth missing. They can numb it so you are awake or they can put you to sleep. Do what's best for you.

I had to do the same exact thing and my teeth were just like you mentioned. The dentist is getting paid to do it right and he will and they will numb the pain. Dont worry, you will be fine. :) I dont remember hurting for days or anything like that so, the pain must be bearable, if there is any at all.

yes!! That same thing happend to me. They put me to sleep because my teeth had such big roots and my adult tooth was started to grow sideways, so they had to push it over. They also took my wisdom teeth while i was out! Very painfull!! But i dont think yours will be as bad. Good luck!
