I'm not sure where you are looking at profiles online, but if you are getting NO responses at all, it could be something you say when you respond. Check out what you are saying---and see if it can be improved upon. Also, as you are educated and interested in intellectual things---living in NY, join business networking groups (hey, single women are there too), frequent the musuems, etc. where you can approach women in public who seem to be interested in the same types of things you are interested in.

go get a myspace account.. put your ugly indian mugshots up there and someone out there is bound to meet you.. within a few days cause people think its hot to meet someone on myspace

have you tried speed dating? if your religous, check to see if your church has a singles night. also you could do a google search to see if there are online dating site specifically for people of your ethnicity.
