AMEN to that!! Christianity is a relationship between us and our creator. Jesus came to earth to die so that we can have a relationship with Him!!! Religion can be a set of rules you HAVE to follow, a relationship with Christ is personal, and when you accept Him and have that relationship, you will WANT to follow.

Right, I understand. Christianity is a belief system or path, but not a specific religion. Just as many religions profess to be Christian, yet they all teach different things. I am of the impression that the message of Christ is the most important thing, although there are other beneficial things we can find in life. Organized religion is just a vehicle, but should not be relied upon as THE truth.

Everyone feels their religion is Not a religion. But the definition of Religion is belief in a Higher Power, following set doctrines, etc... so Christianity is definitely a Religion. And Jesus was a man, yet he did not start Christianity..... He was a Jew and followed the Jewish Religion's beliefs and doctrines.

Well said! I was taught that from my earliest memories as a Southern Baptist, grandson of an ordained Southern Baptist pastor.
However, to be fair, in a broad sense, among the world's religions... Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, Scientology; Christianity DOES stand alone, but it certainly would fall within the General Category "religions."
God bless!
And I admire your fervor! However, over 60 years, I have learned the futility of certain battles, and of certain arguments. I now try to restrict myself to fighting those battles I see some chance of winning, or at LEAST of walking away from.

Yes, I get it. Religion is more of a "Ritual" type thing, whereas Christianity(real Christianity, that is) is more of a relationship....a spiritual relationship with Christ. Someone can be "Religious" and still die and go to Hell. It's the personal relationship with Jesus that one needs.........

So what you're saying is, "Christianity is NOT a religion." Am I right? Just to be clear...
Wait. Is this really a question? Or am I just imagining the rhetoric?

No sir. Anything that brings the human being closer to the creator... anything that re-bounds the human to god ... is called "religion".
Christianity's utimate purpose is to get humans closer to god.
Thus, Christianity IS a religion, not a mere way of life.
Got it??

Ok. Well Jesus was kind of a man, but I get your point. Be aware of the masses of obsessive christians that are about to yell at you.

Christianity is a religion. That is a simple fact, which I understand is the kind of fact you Christians are best with. Try your best to wrap your warped mind around it, and if you're lucky you might accidentally think about something.
