It's back lot and sounds better than Universal Studios. Costs $150. Thoughts?

I haven't done the $150 dollar one that is the Deluxe VIP tour. This one is 5 hours and includes lunch. I have done the regular VIP Tour that costs about $40. For us the regular VIP tour was good enough. You are in very small tour groups of about 12 people per guide and go around in basically oversized golf carts. Since there were only 12 people it made it a lot simpler to ask questions as we went along. It was just over 2 hours and we got to go through a lot of areas. My personal favorite was the Workshop and Prop Warehouse.
It is only a tour with nothing else(AKA Universal), if you want a good tour with no extra fluff then you should go on it. Just remember everyone in your party must have a Goverment Issued ID or they will not let you on the lot.

My brother used to work there so I used to get private tours from him. Neat place, and a "real" tour probably is better than Universal, but I can't imagine it would be worth $150. I agree with OC1999 that your money is probably better spent on the regular tour. Consider doing the less expensive tour and going to Universal, which is fun too, but very different.

Universal Studios is better for the price. But if you want to splurge, go ahead. Its not too bad. Just don't go on a hot day, last week in L.A. has been hell with disgusting weather. It is nice and fresh today though,
