January 29th would be exactly 8 weeks, but remember, the longer the pup stays with its mom, the better adjusted and social it will be.
I generally keep pups until 9-10 weeks to make sure that they are completely ready to become part of their new families!
Good luck with your pup!

January 29 will be 8 weeks. That is a good age. A pup should never be taken from it's momma until at least 6 weeks of age. You can actually start light training exercises at 12 weeks!

Janurary 29.
I got my puppy when he was 8 weeks old. He is a mini dachshund. It was some work getting it to potty outside. But it is a lot more fun becasue you get to see them grow from a little puppy to a bigger puppy. It is the best thing in the world.

The earliest you can legally take a dog from its mother without trusted permission is 7 weeks. No earlier than that. My friend got entrusted with 5 week old puppies and they are horrible, untrained, and extremely violent. They bark at anything that moves, and i dont think they are 100 percent healthy. (or mabey Brianna is the worst dog owner in the history of the world)

I got my dog at 8 weeks old. I worked out great. I believe that's the earliest you can take a pup from it's mother.

Get the pup at eight weeks and have it vet checked. Hopefully your Friend is responsible and the pup has already been to the vet.
